and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied,

The number of your herds and flocks increases. You also get more and more silver and gold. And everything you have multiplies.

and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied,

and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, be careful!

and your herds and flocks grow large, and your silver and gold multiply, and everything else you have increases,

and when your herds and your flocks increase, and your silver and gold increase, and everything that you have increases,

and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;

and your herds and flocks grow large, and your silver and gold multiply, and everything else you have increases,

And[ when] thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;

and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away.”

So Abram went up from Egypt into the Negev. He took his wife and all his possessions with him, as well as Lot.( Now Abram was very wealthy in livestock, silver, and gold.)And he journeyed from place to place from the Negev as far as Bethel. He returned to the place where he had pitched his tent at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai.This was the place where he had first built the altar, and there Abram worshiped the LORD.Now Lot, who was traveling with Abram, also had flocks, herds, and tents.

His possessions included 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys; in addition he had a very great household. Thus he was the greatest of all the people in the east.

Then someone from the crowd said to him,“ Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”But Jesus said to him,“ Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator between you two?”Then he said to them,“ Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”He then told them a parable:“ The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop,so he thought to himself,‘ What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’Then he said,‘ I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.And I will say to myself,“ You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, but is not rich toward God.”
