Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way. He guided you in the desert for these 40 years. He wanted to take your pride away. He wanted to test you to know what was in your hearts. He wanted to see whether you would obey his commands.

And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.

Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.

因為知道你們的信心經過試驗，就生忍耐。

你們年幼的，也要順服年長的。就是你們眾人也都要以謙卑束腰，彼此順服；因為神阻擋驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。所以，你們要自卑，服在神大能的手下，到了時候，他必叫你們升高。

摩西呼求耶和華，耶和華指示他一棵樹。他把樹丟在水裏，水就變甜了。耶和華在那裏為他們定了律例、典章，在那裏試驗他們；

惟有一件事，就是巴比倫王差遣使者來見希西家，訪問國中所現的奇事；這件事神離開他，要試驗他，好知道他心內如何。

我也將你們從埃及地領上來，在曠野引導你們四十年，使你們得亞摩利人之地為業。

因為耶和華－你的神在你手裏所辦的一切事上已賜福與你。你走這大曠野，他都知道了。這四十年，耶和華－你的神常與你同在，故此你一無所缺。』

又在曠野將你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，是要苦煉你，試驗你，叫你終久享福；

我領你們在曠野四十年，你們身上的衣服並沒有穿破，腳上的鞋也沒有穿壞。

耶和華對摩西說：「我要將糧食從天降給你們。百姓可以出去，每天收每天的分，我好試驗他們遵不遵我的法度。

我要提說耶和華所行的；我要記念你古時的奇事。

叫你們的信心既被試驗，就比那被火試驗仍然能壞的金子更顯寶貴，可以在耶穌基督顯現的時候得着稱讚、榮耀、尊貴。

稱謝那引導自己的民行走曠野的，因他的慈愛永遠長存。

我告訴你們，這人回家去比那人倒算為義了；因為，凡自高的，必降為卑；自卑的，必升為高。」

這些事以後，神要試驗亞伯拉罕，就呼叫他說：「亞伯拉罕！」他說：「我在這裏。」

出埃及第四十年十一月初一日，摩西照耶和華藉着他所吩咐以色列人的話都曉諭他們。

但他賜更多的恩典，所以經上說：神阻擋驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。

人心比萬物都詭詐，壞到極處，誰能識透呢？我－耶和華是鑒察人心、試驗人肺腑的，要照各人所行的和他做事的結果報應他。

他在急難的時候，就懇求耶和華－他的神，且在他列祖的神面前極其自卑。

你也不可聽那先知或是那做夢之人的話；因為這是耶和華－你們的神試驗你們，要知道你們是盡心盡性愛耶和華－你們的神不是。

他在路上，在你們前面行，為你們找安營的地方；夜間在火柱裏，日間在雲柱裏，指示你們所當行的路。」

我們的祖宗在埃及不明白你的奇事，不記念你豐盛的慈愛，反倒在紅海行了悖逆。

他來的日子，誰能當得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能立得住呢？因為他如煉金之人的火，如漂布之人的鹼。他必坐下如煉淨銀子的，必潔淨利未人，熬煉他們像金銀一樣；他們就憑公義獻供物給耶和華。

好叫人不從自己的謀算，不行驕傲的事，

你在急難中呼求，我就搭救你；我在雷的隱密處應允你，在米利巴水那裏試驗你。（細拉）

我從前風聞有你，現在親眼看見你。因此我厭惡自己，在塵土和爐灰中懊悔。

務要在主面前自卑，主就必叫你們升高。

鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金；惟有耶和華熬煉人心。

所以你們應當記念：你們從前按肉體是外邦人，是稱為沒受割禮的；這名原是那些憑人手在肉身上稱為受割禮之人所起的。那時，你們與基督無關，在以色列國民以外，在所應許的諸約上是局外人，並且活在世上沒有指望，沒有神。

希西家卻沒有照他所蒙的恩報答耶和華；因他心裏驕傲，所以忿怒要臨到他和猶大並耶路撒冷。但希西家和耶路撒冷的居民覺得心裏驕傲，就一同自卑，以致耶和華的忿怒在希西家的日子沒有臨到他們。

也用不着誰見證人怎樣，因他知道人心裏所存的。

你不要懼怕他們，要牢牢記念耶和華－你神向法老和埃及全地所行的事，

驕傲的必屈膝；狂妄的必降卑。在那日，惟獨耶和華被尊崇；

他的禱告，與神怎樣應允他，他未自卑以前的罪愆過犯，並在何處建築邱壇，設立亞舍拉和雕刻的偶像，都寫在何賽的書上。

我又要殺死她的黨類，叫眾教會知道，我是那察看人肺腑心腸的，並要照你們的行為報應你們各人。

你們雖然曉得這些事，並且在你們已有的真道上堅固，我卻要將這些事常常提醒你們。我以為應當趁我還在這帳棚的時候提醒你們，激發你們；

親愛的弟兄啊，我現在寫給你們的是第二封信。這兩封都是提醒你們，激發你們誠實的心，叫你們記念聖先知預先所說的話和主救主的命令，就是使徒所傳給你們的。
