就對葡萄園工說：「你看，我來、在這無花果樹上找果子、卻找不着，已經三年了。把它砍了吧；何必讓它白佔地土呢？」

霎時間、天因風雲而黑暗，就降下了大雨來。亞哈便坐車、往耶斯列去了。

那討飯的死了；他被天使帶走，到亞伯拉罕懷裏。那財主也死了，並且埋葬了。他在陰間、一直在痛苦中；一舉目竟望見亞伯拉罕在遠處，拉撒路在亞伯拉罕懷裏呢。他就呼喊說：「我祖亞伯拉罕哪，憐恤我吧！打發拉撒路用指頭尖兒蘸水涼涼我的舌頭吧；因為我在這火焰中、極其慘苦啊。」亞伯拉罕說：「孩子，你該回想你一生受盡了你的美物，而拉撒路也照樣受盡了禍患；如今他在這裏得慰藉，你倒受慘苦了！況且在一切之中、在我們和你們之間、還有個大空隙立着呢，叫那些想要從這邊過去到你們那邊的、無能為力；人也不能從那邊越過來到我們這邊。」

現在呢、斧子已經放在樹根上了；凡不結好果子的樹都要被砍下來，丟在火裏。
