Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

In the morning plant your seeds. In the evening keep your hands busy. You don’t know what will succeed. It may be one or the other. Or both might do equally well.

你們撒的種多，收割的卻少；你們吃，卻吃不飽；你們喝，卻喝不足；你們穿衣服，卻穿不暖；得工錢的，卻把工錢放在破袋裡。”萬軍之耶和華這樣說：“你們要反省自己的行為。你們要上山取木材，建造殿宇；我必因此喜悅，並且得榮耀。”耶和華說：“你們期望豐收，反倒歉收；你們收到家裡的，我就吹去。”為甚麼呢？萬軍之耶和華說：“因為我的殿宇荒廢，你們各人卻為自己的房屋奔馳。所以，因你們的緣故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土產。我叫乾旱臨到大地、群山、五穀、新酒、新油、地上的出產、人畜和人手勞碌得來的一切。”

你們要為自己撒種公義，就能收割慈愛的果子，你們要翻鬆荒地。現在是尋求耶和華的時候，直等到他來，降下公義的雨在你們身上。

還有，少種的少收，多種的多收。

但現在我待這些餘剩的子民必不像從前的日子那樣（這是萬軍之耶和華的宣告）。因為五穀必生長繁茂，葡萄樹必結果子，地土必出土產，天也必降下甘露，我要使這些餘剩的子民承受這一切。

收割的人得到工資，也積儲五穀直到永生，使撒種的和收割的一同快樂。‘這人撒種，那人收割’，這話是真的。我派你們去收割你們所沒有勞苦的；別人勞苦，你們卻享受他們勞苦的成果。”

耶和華說：‘我用旱風、霉爛和冰雹擊打你們，和你們手裡的一切工作，你們還是不歸向我。你們要反省，從今日起回想過往，就是自九月二十四日起，從耶和華殿的奠基日開始，你們要反省：倉裡還有種子嗎？葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹和橄欖樹，豈是還沒有結果子嗎？從今日起，我必賜福。’”

亞波羅算甚麼？保羅算甚麼？我們不過是神的僕人，你們藉著我們信了主；按著主所賜給各人的，我栽種了，亞波羅澆灌了，唯有神使它生長。所以，栽種的算不得甚麼，澆灌的也算不得甚麼，只在乎那使它生長的神。

凡是你手可作的，都當盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間裡，既沒有工作，又沒有籌謀；沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

耶穌說：“神的國好像人在地裡撒種，他夜裡睡覺，白天起來，種子發芽生長，自己也不知道怎麼會這樣的。地生五穀是自然的，先長苗，後吐穗，最後穗上結滿了子粒。莊稼熟了，就派人用鐮刀割下，因為收成的時候到了。”

務要傳道；無論時機是否適合，都要常作準備；要以多方的忍耐和教訓責備人、警戒人、勸勉人。

但其中有些塞浦路斯人和古利奈人，來到安提阿，也對希臘人傳講主耶穌。主的手與他們同在，信而歸主的人就多起來。

我留心這一切事，並加以闡明：就是義人、智慧人和他們所作的，都在神手裡。臨到他們的一切，無論是愛是恨，人都不領悟。
