Then I saw that wisdom excels folly As light excels darkness.

我知智愈於愚、猶光愈於暗、

知智愈乎愚、光愈乎暗。

我雖見智慧勝於愚昧、如光明勝於幽暗、

I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness.

I saw that wisdom is better than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness.

Then I saw that there is more gain in wisdom than in folly, as there is more gain in light than in darkness.

I thought,“ Wisdom is better than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness.

And I realized that there is an advantage to wisdom over folly, like the advantage of light over darkness.

Then I saw that wisdom surpasses foolishness as light surpasses darkness.

Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.

And I realized that there is an advantage to wisdom over folly, like the advantage of light over darkness.

I realized that wisdom is preferable to folly, just as light is preferable to darkness:

Wisdom is good with an inheritance, And profitable to those who see the sun.For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.

But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Then I said:“ Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, And his words are not heard.

Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.“ For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts,“ That will leave them neither root nor branch.But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.

How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

Wisdom is better than weapons of war; But one sinner destroys much good.”

The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

Truly the light is sweet, And it is pleasant for the eyes to behold the sun;

Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you.Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Wisdom strengthens the wise More than ten rulers of the city.

But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.
