我转眼又看到在日光之下所行的一切欺压。看哪，受欺压者流泪，无人安慰他们！权势在欺压他们的人手中，却无人安慰受欺压者！

我又轉念，見日光之下所行的一切欺壓。看哪，受欺壓的流淚，且無人安慰；欺壓他們的有勢力，也無人安慰他們。

我轉而觀看日光之下所發生的一切欺壓之事。看哪，受欺壓的流淚，無人安慰；欺壓他們的有權勢，也無人安慰。

我又看、日光之下所行的一切欺壓：看哪，受欺壓的流淚，無人安慰！欺壓他們的、手裏有勢力，也無人安慰！

我轉眼又看到在日光之下所行的一切欺壓。看哪，受欺壓者流淚，無人安慰他們！權勢在欺壓他們的人手中，卻無人安慰受欺壓者！

我轉觀日下所行之虐、見受虐者流涕、慰藉無人、行虐者有權、受虐者不得慰藉、

我復思天下之秉鈞者、虐遇民人、民罹其酷、靡不墮淚、慰藉無人。

我復見日下多有冤屈、受屈者流淚、慰之者無人、虐之者勢大、慰之者無人、

Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun: I saw the tears of the oppressed— and they have no comforter; power was on the side of their oppressors— and they have no comforter.

I looked and saw how much people were suffering on this earth. I saw the tears of those who are suffering. They don’t have anyone to comfort them. Power is on the side of those who treat them badly. Those who are suffering don’t have anyone to comfort them.

Again I saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no one to comfort them! On the side of their oppressors there was power, and there was no one to comfort them.

Again, I observed all the oppression that takes place under the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed, with no one to comfort them. The oppressors have great power, and their victims are helpless.

Then I looked again at all the acts of oppression which were being done under the sun. And behold, I saw the tears of the oppressed and that they had no one to comfort them; and power was on the side of their oppressors, but they had no one to comfort them.

Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, But they have no comforter— On the side of their oppressors there is power, But they have no comforter.

So I again considered all the oppression that continually occurs on earth. This is what I saw: The oppressed were in tears, but no one was comforting them; no one delivers them from the power of their oppressors.

Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment— wickedness was there, in the place of justice— wickedness was there. (niv)

The vineyard of the Lord Almighty is the nation of Israel, and the people of Judah are the vines he delighted in. And he looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress. (niv)

If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still. (niv)

Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. (niv)

That is why you keep saying,‘ Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks.”The Israelite overseers realized they were in trouble when they were told,“ You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you for each day.” (niv)

I say to God my Rock,“ Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?” (niv)

“ Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord.“ I will protect them from those who malign them.” (niv)

Now the men and their wives raised a great outcry against their fellow Jews.Some were saying,“ We and our sons and daughters are numerous; in order for us to eat and stay alive, we must get grain.”Others were saying,“ We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards and our homes to get grain during the famine.”Still others were saying,“ We have had to borrow money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.Although we are of the same flesh and blood as our fellow Jews and though our children are as good as theirs, yet we have to subject our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but we are powerless, because our fields and our vineyards belong to others.” (niv)

Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none. (niv)

Extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart. (niv)

I also could speak like you, if you were in my place; I could make fine speeches against you and shake my head at you. (niv)

I will put it into the hands of your tormentors, who said to you,‘ Fall prostrate that we may walk on you.’ And you made your back like the ground, like a street to be walked on.” (niv)

All day long my enemies taunt me; those who rail against me use my name as a curse.For I eat ashes as my food and mingle my drink with tears (niv)

like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength. (niv)

And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not. (niv)

You have fed them with the bread of tears; you have made them drink tears by the bowlful. (niv)

“ Have pity on me, my friends, have pity, for the hand of God has struck me.Why do you pursue me as God does? Will you never get enough of my flesh? (niv)

“ People cry out under a load of oppression; they plead for relief from the arm of the powerful. (niv)

Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.A tyrannical ruler practices extortion, but one who hates ill- gotten gain will enjoy a long reign. (niv)

A ruler who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no crops. (niv)

At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them.But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. (niv)

A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days. (niv)

During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. (niv)

therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you. (niv)
