那還沒生下來的，就是還沒看過日光之下所行的惡事的，比這兩種人更有福。

并且我以为那未曾生的，就是未见过日光之下恶事的，比这两等人更强。

但那尚未出生，就是未曾见过日光之下所发生之恶事的，比这两种人更幸福。

但那尚未出生，就是未曾见过日光之下所发生之恶事的，比这两种人更幸福。

不过，比以上两种人更幸运的是那从未出生的人，他们从未见过日光之下各样的恶行。

那还没生下来的，就是还没看过日光之下所行的恶事的，比这两种人更有福。

但那还没有出生的人，比这两者更好，因他没有见过在日光之下所行的恶事。

並且我以為那未曾生的，就是未見過日光之下惡事的，比這兩等人更強。

但那尚未出生，就是未曾見過日光之下所發生之惡事的，比這兩種人更幸福。

不過，比以上兩種人更幸運的是那從未出生的人，他們從未見過日光之下各樣的惡行。

我並且以為、那未曾生的、就是那未曾經驗過日光之下所發生的壞事的、比這兩種人還好。

但那還沒有出生的人，比這兩者更好，因他沒有見過在日光之下所行的惡事。

且以未生之人、未睹日下所作之惡者、較斯二者為尤愈也、○

又思未生於斯世者、未見斯人之穢行、較生而復死者、尤為幸甚。

較此二者、未生於世、未見日下所作之惡事者更為幸、○

But better than both is the one who has never been born, who has not seen the evil that is done under the sun.

But someone who hasn’t been born yet is better off than the dead or the living. That’s because that person hasn’t seen the evil things that are done on earth.

But better than both is he who has not yet been and has not seen the evil deeds that are done under the sun.

But most fortunate of all are those who are not yet born. For they have not seen all the evil that is done under the sun.

But better than either of them is the one who has not yet existed, who has not seen the evil activity that is done under the sun.

But better off than both of them is the one who has never existed, who has never seen the evil activity that is done under the sun.

Yet, better than both is he who has never existed, Who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

yea, better than them both did I esteem him that hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

But better than either of them is the one who has not yet existed, who has not seen the evil activity that is done under the sun.

Yea, better[ is he] than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

But better than both is the one who has not been born and has not seen the evil things that are done on earth.

Yes, better than them both is him who has not yet been, who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

日子將到，人必說：‘不生育的和沒有懷過胎的，也沒有哺養過嬰兒的有福了。’

人如果生下百子，活了許多歲數，年日長久，但是心裡不因美物滿足，又得不到安葬，我以為流產的胎比他還好。因為這胎虛虛而來，暗暗而去，黑暗把他的名字遮蔽了。這胎既看不見天日，又一無所知，就比那人更得安息。

當那些日子，懷孕的和乳養孩子的有禍了！

因為那夜沒有把我母胎的門關閉，也沒有把苦難隱藏，使我看不見。我為甚麼不一離母胎就死去？我為甚麼不一出母腹就斷氣？為甚麼有膝承接我？為甚麼有乳哺養我？不然，我早已躺下安息，與世上那些為自己建造陵墓的君王和謀士同睡，或與那些擁有黃金，房屋裝滿銀子的王侯同眠。我為甚麼不像暗中流產的胎，未見天日的嬰孩，歸於無有呢？

他們找到墳墓就高興，非常歡喜快樂。

你為甚麼使我出母胎呢？我不如死去，無人得見我，這樣，就像從來沒有我一樣，一出母腹就被送入墳墓。

我看過日光之下所發生的一切事，不料，一切都是虛空，都是捕風。

我說：“但願我有鴿子一般的翅膀，我就飛走，得以安居。看哪！我必逃往遠處，在曠野裡住宿。（細拉）我要趕快到我避難的地方去，逃避狂風暴雨。”主啊！擾亂惡人的計謀，使他們的意見（“意見”原文作“舌頭”）分歧，因為我在城中看見了強暴和爭競的事。惡人日夜在城牆上繞行，在城裡盡是邪惡與禍害；城中也有毀滅人的事，欺壓和詭詐不離城裡的街道。

但願我在曠野有一個旅客住宿的地方，好使我離開我的同胞，可以離他們而去；因為他們都是行姦淫的，是行詭詐之徒。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為9:1）“他們彎曲舌頭，像彎弓一樣；在這地得勢的是虛謊，不是誠實；因為他們變本加厲地作惡，連我也不認識。”這是耶和華的宣告。

因此我恨惡生命，因為在日光之下所發生的事，都使我厭煩。一切都是虛空，都是捕風。

因為他沒有使我死於母腹，好使我的母親成了我的墳墓，我永遠留在母腹中。我為甚麼要出母胎，經歷勞苦和憂傷，並且我的年日都消逝在羞辱之中呢？
