有人獨處無子、無兄弟、然亦勞碌不已、雖得多財、目中不以為足、亦不自問曰、我不自享所得、我勞碌究為誰耶、此亦屬於虛、徒勞無益、

There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.“ For whom am I toiling,” he asked,“ and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?” This too is meaningless— a miserable business!

A man lived all by himself. He didn’t have any sons or brothers. His hard work never ended. But he wasn’t happy with what he had.“ Who am I working so hard for?” he asked.“ Why don’t I get the things I enjoy?” That doesn’t have any meaning either. In fact, it’s a very bad deal!

one person who has no other, either son or brother, yet there is no end to all his toil, and his eyes are never satisfied with riches, so that he never asks,“ For whom am I toiling and depriving myself of pleasure?” This also is vanity and an unhappy business.

This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself,“ Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now?” It is all so meaningless and depressing.

阴间地府，从不饱足；人的眼目，也不饱足。

原来世界上一切肉体的欲望、眼目的欲望、今生的骄傲，都不是出于父，而是出于世界的。

万事令人厌倦，人无法说尽；眼看，看不饱；耳听，听不足。

我用心求问，以智慧探察在天下所做的一切，这些都是神加给世人极重的担子，让他们在其中操劳。

“可是神对他说：‘你这愚妄的人哪！今夜，他们就要召回你的灵魂了。那么，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

两个人总比一个人好，因为二人共同劳苦有美好的赏报。如果一个跌倒，另一个还可以扶起他的同伴；但如果孤身一人，跌倒后没有同伴把他扶起，这人就有祸了！再者，如果二人同睡，就都暖和；一人独睡，怎能暖和呢？孤身一人会被人制伏，但两个人就能在对手面前站立得住，三股合成的绳子不容易拉断。

祸哉！你们这样的人！你们使房屋连着房屋，田地接着田地，以致没有多余的空间，好独自居住在那地当中。

人们往来行走，只是幻像；他们喧闹，也是虚空；他们积蓄，却不知道谁会收取。

贪爱银子的不会因银子满足，贪爱财富的也不会因利益满足。这也是虚空！

耶和华神又说：“那人孤身不好，我要为他造一个合适的帮助者。”

你们为什么把钱花在非食物的东西上呢？为什么把自己的辛苦所得花在不能使人饱足的东西上呢？你们要留心听我的话，要吃美物，让自己的心灵得享肥甘！

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，你要赐给我什么呢？我一直没有孩子，我家业的继承人是大马士革人以利以谢。”亚伯兰又说：“看哪，既然你没有赐给我后裔，那生在我家里的就是我的继承人了。”

其实他一生的日子都是痛苦，他的事务都是烦恼，他的心甚至在夜间也不得安息。这也是虚空！

“所有劳苦和背负重担的人哪，到我这里来吧！我将使你们得到安息。

他们不反思，也没有知识和聪慧来说：“我用一半的木头烧火，又在火炭上烘饼，烤肉吃。我怎么能用剩下的木头制造可憎之物呢？我怎么能向一块木头膜拜呢？”他们追求的只是灰烬；他们的心受了迷惑，使他们偏离正道；他们不能救自己，也不会说：“我右手中的，难道不是虚谎之物吗？”

不要让归附于耶和华的外邦人说：“耶和华必定会把我从他的子民中分离出去。”也不要让被阉割的人说：“看哪，我是一棵枯树！”因为耶和华如此说：“对于那些谨守我的安息日、选择我所喜悦的事、坚守我约的被阉割之人，我必在我的殿中墙内，赐给他们纪念柱和名号，比有儿女更好；我必赐给他们永不剪除的名号。
