我心曰、我以主為業、故我仰望主、凡瞻望主、尋求主者、主施之以恩、安靜以望主拯救、斯方為善、人自幼負軛、斯亦為善、

故我思、人莫若樂享所經營者、以為可得之分惟此、身後之事、孰能使之逆睹哉、

惡人不敬畏天主、終不得享福、雖長壽、不為長壽、如虛影而已、

世人有如虛幻、其年壽如影易逝、

主賜我生命、長不過掌、生存之年、在主前如同無有、一切世人、雖然豎立、亦是虛幻、細拉、人生在世、猶如幻影、營謀皆是枉然、積蓄不知誰取、

未來之事、人不能知、將成之事、孰能預告之、

我儕年壽、不過七十、若強健者可至八十、其中勞苦煩惱甚多、日月甚速、我儕迅逝如飛、何人能識主怒之威嚴、誰能依敬畏主之道、明曉主之盛怒、求主指示我以計數自己年日、以便生智慧之心、

惟我遵行善道、得見主面、於我醒時見主容顏、我即心滿意足、

求主垂念我之歲月甚短、主創造世人、緣何使之如此虛幻、

我之年歲、如日影已斜、我亦枯槁如草、

世人乎、主曾諭爾何為善、主向爾所欲無他、惟欲爾行公義、好施矜恤、虔敬虔敬或作謙遜以奉事爾之天主、○

其愛、其惡、其嫉妒、悉已泯滅、彼於日下所作之事、永無分焉、○

我儕在主前如客旅寄居、無異列祖、我在世之日如影、難冀常存、

我壽將盡、如日影沈西、又被驅逐、有若蝗蟲、

我儕自昨日始有、毫無所知、我儕在世之日、猶如虛影、

有多人云、惟願得福、主歟、我惟願主面之榮光照臨我儕、

子孫尊榮亦不知、後裔卑賤亦不覺、

事之大要、我儕俱當聽之、即敬畏天主、守其誡命、此為人之大端、

為我儕選立基業、即雅各之榮耀、主所喜悅者、細拉、
