人苟生百子、享壽高、歷年久、而心不得享福、身不獲安葬、我謂未盈期而生者、較彼尤愈、

人有百子、又獲遐齡、生不能享福、死不得善葬、以我觀之、胎未成人者、較彼愈美。

設人生百子、又享遐齡、在世之年日甚多、而不得享所有以為福、死後亦不得安葬、以我觀之、以我觀之原文作我則曰胎死者較彼尤美、

A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children. He might live a long time. But suppose he can’t enjoy his wealth. And suppose he isn’t buried in the proper way. Then it doesn’t matter how long he lives. I’m telling you that a baby that is born dead is better off than that man is.

If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life’s good things, and he also has no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children and live to be very old. But if he finds no satisfaction in life and doesn’t even get a decent burial, it would have been better for him to be born dead.

A man may father a hundred children and live many years. No matter how long he lives, if he is not satisfied by good things and does not even have a proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

我为何不像流产的胎儿被埋藏，如同未见光的婴孩？

但那尚未出生，就是未曾见过日光之下所发生之恶事的，比这两种人更幸福。

他被埋葬好像埋驴子一样，被拖出去，扔在耶路撒冷城门外。

他们去了，要埋葬她，却只找到她的头骨和脚，以及手掌。

雅各对法老说：“我在世寄居的年日是一百三十年，我一生的岁月又短又苦，比不上我祖先在世寄居的年日。”

惟独你被抛弃在你的坟墓之外，有如被厌恶的枝子，被许多用刀刺透杀死的人覆盖着，一同坠落地府的石头那里，像被践踏的尸首。你不得与君王同葬，因为你毁坏你的国，杀戮你的民。“恶人的后裔永不留名。

以利为以利加拿和他妻子祝福，说：“愿耶和华由这妇人再赐你后裔，代替从耶和华求来的孩子。”他们就回自己的地方去了。耶和华眷顾哈拿，她就怀孕生了三个儿子，两个女儿。那孩子撒母耳在耶和华面前渐渐长大。

以扫举目看见妇人和孩子，就说：“这些和你一起的是谁呢？”雅各说：“这些孩子是神施恩给你仆人的。”

王允准这么做。敕令传遍书珊，哈曼十个儿子的尸体被挂了起来。亚达月十四日，在书珊的犹太人又聚集，在书珊杀了三百人，却没有下手夺取财物。

散布在太阳、月亮和天上众星之下，就是他们从前所喜爱、所事奉、所随从、所求问、所敬拜的。这些骸骨不被收殓，不被埋葬，必在地面上成为粪土。

亚哈有七十个儿子在撒玛利亚。耶户写信送到撒玛利亚，给耶斯列的领袖和长老，以及教养亚哈众儿子的人，说：

罗波安有十八个妻和六十个妾，生了二十八个儿子，六十个女儿；他却爱押沙龙的女儿玛迦，过于爱其他的妻妾。

人子要去了，正如经上所写有关他的；但出卖人子的人有祸了！那人没有出生倒好。”

并且他终身在黑暗中吃喝，多有烦恼、病痛和怒气。看哪，我所见为善为美的，就是人在神赐他一生的日子吃喝，享受日光之下劳碌得来的好处，因为这是他应得的报偿。而且，一个人蒙神赏赐财富与资产，又使他能享用，能获取自己当有的报偿，在他的劳碌中喜乐，这是神的赏赐。

愿他们像蜗牛腐烂消失，又像妇人流掉的胎儿，未见天日。

于是哈曼被挂在他为末底改所预备的木架上；王的愤怒才平息了。

所以耶和华论到犹大王约雅敬说：他后裔中必没有人坐在大卫的宝座上；他的尸首必被抛弃，白天受炎热，黑夜受寒霜。

耶和华赐我许多儿子，在我儿子中拣选我儿子所罗门坐耶和华国度的王位，治理以色列。

人在年轻时生的儿女好像勇士手中的箭。箭袋充满的人有福了！他们在城门口和仇敌争论时必不蒙羞。

子孙为老人的冠冕；父母是儿女的荣耀。

哈曼将他的荣华富贵、众多的儿女，和王使他尊大、提升他高过官长和臣仆的事，都述说给他们听。
