我盡心求道、欲知事理之所以、亦欲知愚昧之不善、

我轉而思之、專心欲得知識、欲究萬事、欲求智慧明哲、且欲知何為惡、何為愚、何為拙、何為狂、且欲知何為惡何為愚何為拙何為狂或作且欲知惡之為愚拙之為狂

So I turned my mind to understand, to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the madness of folly.

So I tried to understand wisdom more completely. I wanted to study it and figure it out. I tried to find out everything I could about it. I tried to understand why it’s foolish to be evil. I wanted to see why choosing foolishness is so unwise.

I turned my heart to know and to search out and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know the wickedness of folly and the foolishness that is madness.

I searched everywhere, determined to find wisdom and to understand the reason for things. I was determined to prove to myself that wickedness is stupid and that foolishness is madness.

I turned my thoughts to know, explore, and examine wisdom and an explanation for things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity and folly is madness.

I directed my mind to know and to investigate, and to seek wisdom and an explanation, and to know the evil of foolishness and the foolishness of insanity.

I turned about, and my heart was set to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the reason of things, and to know that wickedness is folly, and that foolishness is madness.

I turned my thoughts to know, explore, and seek wisdom and an explanation for things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity and folly is madness.

I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason[ of things], and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness[ and] madness:

I tried to understand, examine, and comprehend the role of wisdom in the scheme of things, and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the insanity of folly.

I turned around, and my heart sought to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity, and that foolishness is madness.

The words of his mouth begin with foolishness, And the end of his talk is raving madness.

For I considered all this in my heart, so that I could declare it all: that the righteous and the wise and their works are in the hand of God. People know neither love nor hatred by anything they see before them.All things come alike to all: One event happens to the righteous and the wicked; To the good, the clean, and the unclean; To him who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice. As is the good, so is the sinner; He who takes an oath as he who fears an oath.This is an evil in all that is done under the sun: that one thing happens to all. Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

“ Here is what I have found,” says the Preacher,“ Adding one thing to the other to find out the reason,

By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked( for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

Therefore I turned my heart and despaired of all the labor in which I had toiled under the sun.

Then I turned myself to consider wisdom and madness and folly; For what can the man do who succeeds the king?— Only what he has already done.

And I set my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven; this burdensome task God has given to the sons of man, by which they may be exercised.I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.What is crooked cannot be made straight, And what is lacking cannot be numbered.I communed with my heart, saying,“ Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.”And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind.

I said in my heart,“ Come now, I will test you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure”; but surely, this also was vanity.I said of laughter—“ Madness!”; and of mirth,“ What does it accomplish?”I searched in my heart how to gratify my flesh with wine, while guiding my heart with wisdom, and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the sons of men to do under heaven all the days of their lives.

Righteous are You, O Lord, when I plead with You; Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are those happy who deal so treacherously?You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; They grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth But far from their mind.

Get up, sanctify the people, and say,‘ sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel:“ There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”

Let a man meet a bear robbed of her cubs, Rather than a fool in his folly.

Moreover I saw under the sun: In the place of judgment, Wickedness was there; And in the place of righteousness, Iniquity was there.I said in my heart,“ God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, For there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

And the sons of Jacob came in from the field when they heard it; and the men were grieved and very angry, because he had done a disgraceful thing in Israel by lying with Jacob’s daughter, a thing which ought not to be done.

But she answered him,“ No, my brother, do not force me, for no such thing should be done in Israel. Do not do this disgraceful thing!

As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly.

knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,and saying,“ Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

So I said in my heart,“ As it happens to the fool, It also happens to me, And why was I then more wise?” Then I said in my heart,“ This also is vanity.”
