As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.

No one can stop the wind from blowing. And no one has the power to decide when they will die. No one is let out of the army in times of war. And evil won’t let go of those who practice it.

No man has power to retain the spirit, or power over the day of death. There is no discharge from war, nor will wickedness deliver those who are given to it.

None of us can hold back our spirit from departing. None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death. There is no escaping that obligation, that dark battle. And in the face of death, wickedness will certainly not rescue the wicked.

No one has authority over the wind to restrain it, and there is no authority over the day of death; no one is discharged during battle, and wickedness will not allow those who practice it to escape.

主使之立於滑地、使之陷於沈淪、頃刻毀滅、驚駭消亡、歸於無有、主興起、輕視其浮華、如人睡醒、藐視幻夢、我心憤恨不平、肺腑如割、其時我愚昧無知、在主面前、與蠢獸無異、我仍不離主、主亦扶我右手、主必賜訓以引導我、後必接我入榮耀、主之外、在天我何所歸向、在地我無所愛慕、我身軀臟腑、雖至消亡、我心所倚賴如磐者、惟有天主、我以天主為永業、遠離主者、必致死亡、悖逆主者、主必勦滅、我以親近天主為我之福、我惟倚賴主天主、傳揚主之一切作為、

所種者屬辱、復活者屬榮、所種者屬弱、復活者屬強、

爾與死亡所立之約必廢、與示阿勒所結之盟不立、敵軍來時、如水汎濫四溢、經歷斯地、爾曹為彼所蹂躪、

天主所賜之生氣、如定意使歸於己、

我儕終必死亡、如水傾地、不能復聚、惟天主不偏待人、或作天主不使人喪命必設一法、使逃亡者終得旋歸、

天主必將爾毀滅至於永遠、除爾、拔爾於爾居所、居所原文作幕除爾根於世間、細拉、善人見此必恐懼、且哂笑之、云、不仰賴天主保護、惟恃己之多財、盡力作惡者、即是此人、

隨其蹤跡至約但、見途間遍遺衣服器械、乃亞蘭人疾趨而棄者、使者返告王、

孰知人之靈必升於上、獸之魂必降於下、

爾出與敵戰、見車馬軍卒、較爾眾多、則毋畏懼、因主爾之天主、昔導爾出伊及者必祐爾、爾臨戰時、祭司當至民前宣告曰、以色列人聽之哉、爾今日攻敵、臨戰毋怯心、毋畏懼、毋驚恐、毋因敵而戰慄、因主爾之天主與爾偕往、為爾攻敵以拯救爾、以拯救爾或作使爾獲勝族長當告民曰、誰建室尚未落成、可去而歸家、死亡於戰而他人落成、誰植葡萄園、尚未食其果、可去而歸家、恐亡於戰而他人食之、誰聘妻尚未娶之、可去而歸家、恐亡於戰而他人娶之、族長亦當告民曰、誰畏葸膽怯、可去而歸家、恐使其同儕亦膽怯與彼無異、
