因為人類並不知道他自己的定時：魚怎樣被捉住於致禍的網裏，鳥怎樣被捉住於機檻中，人類當禍患時、災禍忽然降到他們身上時、人也怎樣被羅住。

譬彼水族羽族、猝罹網羅、人遘飛殃、出於莫測者亦若是。

時勢或作終局如何、人不得知、如魚之入網、網原文作惡網如鳥之入羅、禍患忽臨於人、而人陷其中亦若是、○

Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

No one knows when trouble will come to them. Fish are caught in nets. Birds are taken in traps. And people are trapped by hard times that come when they don’t expect them.

For man does not know his time. Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them.

People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy.

For certainly no one knows his time: like fish caught in a cruel net or like birds caught in a trap, so people are trapped in an evil time as it suddenly falls on them.

For indeed, a person does not know his time: like fish that are caught in a treacherous net and birds caught in a snare, so the sons of mankind are ensnared at an evil time when it suddenly falls on them.

For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, Like birds caught in a snare, So the sons of men are snared in an evil time, When it falls suddenly upon them.

For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

惡人犯罪、內伏網羅、惟彼義人、歡呼喜樂、

人方謂平康安固、滅亡突及之、如產難之及妊婦、而莫之避也、

守命之人、不遇禍患、智者之心、識時知鞫、事有其時、鞫有其期、以人之重負難堪也、未來之事、彼不之知、其事之終、孰能告之、

爾當自慎、勿以饜飲沈湎、世之憧擾累爾心、免其日如機檻、突然臨爾、蓋此日必臨於全地之居人、爾惟隨時儆醒祈求、俾爾得避此將來之事、而立於人子前、○

若家主知盜何時至、則必儆醒、不致穴其室、此爾所知也、

行惡定罪、而不即罰、人則決志為惡、

爾實置之於險地、委之於沉淪兮、猝然荒寂、因威烈而滅沒兮、主歟、爾興起時、蔑視其形相、如人醒時之視夢幻兮、

何使人若海魚、若無主匍匐之物乎、敵以鈎釣之、以罟捕之、以網集之、緣此歡欣喜樂、獻祭於其罟、焚香於其網、因其由此所得者肥、所食者豐也、彼傾其網、恆戮列邦、而不之惜、可乎哉、

人子之時、如挪亞之時、人食飲嫁娶、迨挪亞入方舟之日、洪水至而滅眾、又如羅得之時、人食飲貿易、樹藝建造、迨羅得出所多瑪之日、自天雨火與硫而滅眾、人子顯著之日、亦如是、是日也、乘屋者、其具在室、勿下取之、在田者、亦勿歸、

乃急從之、如牛就屠、如愚者受懲於縲絏、至於矢刺其肝、如鳥亟於投網、不知性命攸關、

故其災害突至、勿遭摧折、無術補救、

將布羅網於惡人烈火硫磺炎颷、盈其杯兮、

曰、倘爾於是日、知關乎平安之事則幸、但今隱於爾目矣、蓋日將至、爾敵必築壘環爾、四週困爾、且擲爾及爾中子女於地、不遺一石於石上、以爾不知眷顧爾之日也、○

惟上帝謂之曰、無知者乎、今夜將索爾靈、則所備者誰歸、

於異邦宜正爾行、使素謗爾為惡者見之、則榮上帝於眷顧之日、

其足陷之於網羅、自行於羈絆、樊籠拑其踵、機檻拘其身、繩索為之藏於土、罟擭為之設於途、

爾之罪愆、若高垣將傾、凸而有隙、俄頃之間、突然而圮、

但此輩乃無知之物、生性如畜、為人所執而屠者、謗讟其所不知、將於所敗者而見敗、

蓋曰、我聽爾於見納之時、佑爾於拯救之日、今乃見納之時、拯救之日矣、

致自醒以脫魔之機檻、乃為主之僕所取、以成上帝之旨也、
