and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written:“ Therefore I will give praise to You among the Gentiles, And I will sing praises to Your name.”Again he says,“ Rejoice, you Gentiles, with His people.”And again,“ Praise the Lord all you Gentiles, And let all the peoples praise Him.”Again Isaiah says,“ There shall come the root of Jesse, And He who arises to rule over the Gentiles, In Him will the Gentiles hope.”Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

And we preach to you the good news of the promise made to the fathers,that God has fulfilled this promise to those of us who are the descendants by raising Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm:‘ You are My Son; today I have fathered You.’

For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past,but now has been disclosed, and through the Scriptures of the prophets, in accordance with the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;

and they said,“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

So they said to one another,“ Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be.” This happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled:“ They divided My garments among themselves, and they cast lots for My clothing.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.

But the things which God previously announced by the mouths of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has fulfilled in this way.

Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

Beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.

Now He said to them,“ These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Therefore, since He has been exalted at the right hand of God, and has received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear.

For these things took place so that the Scripture would be fulfilled:“ Not a bone of Him shall be broken.”

and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.

After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, in order that the Scripture would be fulfilled,* said,“ I am thirsty.”

as He also says in Hosea:“ I will call those who were not My people,‘ My people,’ And her who was not beloved,‘ beloved.’ ”“ And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them,‘ you are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.”Isaiah cries out concerning Israel,“ Though the number of the sons of Israel may be like the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved;for the Lord will execute His word on the earth, thoroughly and quickly.”And just as Isaiah foretold:“ If the Lord of armies had not left us descendants, We would have become like Sodom, and would have been like Gomorrah.”What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but the righteousness that is by faith;
