This grace was given to me— the least of all the saints— to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of Christ,

assuming you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that he gave me for you.

According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith;if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching;if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, leading, various kinds of tongues.Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles?Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?

For the one whom God sent speaks God’s words, since he gives the Spirit without measure.

To one he gave five talents, to another two talents, and to another one talent, depending on each one’s ability. Then he went on a journey. Immediately

For it says: When he ascended on high, he took the captives captive; he gave gifts to people.But what does“ he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower parts of the earth?The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, to fill all things.And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

Working together with him, we also appeal to you,“ Don’t receive the grace of God in vain.”

We, however, will not boast beyond measure but according to the measure of the area of ministry that God has assigned to us, which reaches even to you.For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we had not reached you, since we have come to you with the gospel of Christ.We are not boasting beyond measure about other people’s labors. On the contrary, we have the hope that as your faith increases, our area of ministry will be greatly enlarged,
