諭旨中，王准各省各城的猶大人在一日之間，十二月，就是亞達月十三日，聚集保護性命，剪除殺戮滅絕那要攻擊猶大人的一切仇敵和他們的妻子兒女，奪取他們的財為掠物。

哈曼將他富厚的榮耀、眾多的兒女，和王擡舉他使他超乎首領臣僕之上，都述說給他們聽。

凡是你的東西，就是一根線、一根鞋帶，我都不拿，免得你說：『我使亞伯蘭富足！』

他必從光明中被攆到黑暗裏，必被趕出世界。在本民中必無子無孫；在寄居之地也無一人存留。

神為惡人所定的分，強暴人從全能者所得的報乃是這樣：倘或他的兒女增多，還是被刀所殺；他的子孫必不得飽食。他所遺留的人必死而埋葬；他的寡婦也不哀哭。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三四代；

又說：「耶和華已經起了誓，必世世代代和亞瑪力人爭戰。」

弟兄們，我還有未盡的話：凡是真實的、可敬的、公義的、清潔的、可愛的、有美名的，若有甚麼德行，若有甚麼稱讚，這些事你們都要思念。

亞達月十四日，書珊的猶大人又聚集在書珊，殺了三百人，卻沒有下手奪取財物。在王各省其餘的猶大人也都聚集保護性命，殺了恨他們的人七萬五千，卻沒有下手奪取財物。這樣，就脫離仇敵，得享平安。

以斯帖說：「仇人敵人就是這惡人哈曼！」哈曼在王和王后面前就甚驚惶。

願無人向他延綿施恩！願無人可憐他的孤兒！願他的後人斷絕，名字被塗抹，不傳於下代！

因我和我的本族被賣了，要剪除殺戮滅絕我們。我們若被賣為奴為婢，我也閉口不言；但王的損失，敵人萬不能補足。」

不要以惡報惡；眾人以為美的事要留心去做。

你必從世上滅絕他們的子孫，從人間滅絕他們的後裔。

這事以後，亞哈隨魯王擡舉亞甲族哈米大他的兒子哈曼，使他高升，叫他的爵位超過與他同事的一切臣宰。
