He told them to give presents of food to one another. He also wanted them to give gifts to people who were poor.

And no leavened bread shall be seen among you, nor shall leaven be seen among you in all your quarters.And you shall tell your son in that day, saying,‘ This is done because of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt.’

Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

Then he said to them,“ Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”So the Levites quieted all the people, saying,“ Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved.”And all the people went their way to eat and drink, to send portions and rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that were declared to them.

And in that day you will say:“ O Lord, I will praise You; Though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me.Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;‘ For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’”
