So Moses raised his staff over Egypt, and the Lord caused an east wind to blow over the land all that day and through the night. When morning arrived, the east wind had brought the locusts.

He spoke, and the winds rose, stirring up the waves.Their ships were tossed to the heavens and plunged again to the depths; the sailors cringed in terror.They reeled and staggered like drunkards and were at their wits’ end.“ Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

He released the east wind in the heavens and guided the south wind by his mighty power.

The disciples were amazed.“ Who is this man?” they asked.“ Even the winds and waves obey him!”

And as the sun grew hot, God arranged for a scorching east wind to blow on Jonah. The sun beat down on his head until he grew faint and wished to die.“ Death is certainly better than living like this!” he exclaimed.

He spoke, and hordes of locusts came— young locusts beyond number.

But the Lord hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm that threatened to break the ship apart.

fire and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather that obey him,

Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land.

Then seven more heads of grain appeared, but these were shriveled and withered by the east wind.
