「你們要將我這些話存在心裏，留在意念中，繫在手上作記號，戴在額上作經匣。

他們所做的一切事都是要讓人看見，所以把佩戴的經匣加寬了，衣裳的繸子加長了，

這血要在你們所住的房屋上作記號；我一見這血，就逾越你們。我擊打埃及地的時候，災殃必不臨到你們身上施行毀滅。」

耶和華就用大能的手和伸出來的膀臂，以及大而可畏的事和神蹟奇事，領我們出了埃及，

也要殷勤教導你的兒女。無論你坐在家裏，走在路上，躺下，起來，都要吟誦。要繫在手上作記號，戴在額上作經匣；又要寫在你房屋的門框上和你的城門上。
