For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel,‘ They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’

Pharaoh will think,‘ The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.’

Pharaoh will think,‘ The Israelites are wandering around the land. They don’t know which way to go. The desert is all around them.’

For Pharaoh will say of the people of Israel,‘ They are wandering in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’

Then Pharaoh will think,‘ The Israelites are confused. They are trapped in the wilderness!’

For I heard many mocking:“ Fear on every side!”“ Report,” they say,“ and we will report it!” All my acquaintances watched for my stumbling, saying,“ Perhaps he can be induced; Then we will prevail against him, And we will take our revenge on him.”But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.

When the Gazites were told,“ Samson has come here!” they surrounded the place and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city. They were quiet all night, saying,“ In the morning, when it is daylight, we will kill him.”

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

Saying,“ God has forsaken him; Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.”
