这是耶稣所行的头一件神迹，是在加利利的迦拿行的，显出他的荣耀来；他的门徒就信他了。

那些来看马利亚的犹太人见了耶稣所做的事，就多有信他的；

当耶稣在耶路撒冷过逾越节的时候，有许多人看见他所行的神迹，就信了他的名。耶稣却不将自己交托他们；因为他知道万人，也用不着谁见证人怎样，因他知道人心里所存的。

那些在磐石上的，就是人听道，欢喜领受，但心中没有根，不过暂时相信，及至遇见试炼就退后了。

耶稣说这话的时候，就有许多人信他。耶稣对信他的犹太人说：“你们若常常遵守我的道，就真是我的门徒；你们必晓得真理，真理必叫你们得以自由。”

耶和华对摩西说：“我要在密云中临到你那里，叫百姓在我与你说话的时候可以听见，也可以永远信你了。”于是，摩西将百姓的话奏告耶和华。

我因惧怕你，肉就发抖；我也怕你的判语。

次日清早，众人起来往提哥亚的旷野去。出去的时候，约沙法站着说：“犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，要听我说：信耶和华你们的神就必立稳；信他的先知就必亨通。”

那时，他们才信了他的话，歌唱赞美他。等不多时，他们就忘了他的作为，不仰望他的指教，

百姓就信了。以色列人听见耶和华眷顾他们，鉴察他们的困苦，就低头下拜。

于是撒母耳求告耶和华，耶和华就在这日打雷降雨，众民便甚惧怕耶和华和撒母耳。

西门自己也信了；既受了洗，就常与腓利在一处，看见他所行的神迹和大异能，就甚惊奇。
