When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other,“ What is it?” For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them,“ It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.

The people of Israel saw the flakes. They asked each other,“ What’s that?” They didn’t know what it was. Moses said to them,“ It’s the bread the Lord has given you to eat.

When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another,“ What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them,“ It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.

The Israelites were puzzled when they saw it.“ What is it?” they asked each other. They had no idea what it was. And Moses told them,“ It is the food the Lord has given you to eat.

耶和华对摩西说：“看哪，我要把粮食从天上降给你们；人民可以出去，每天收取当天的分量，我好试验他们是否遵行我的律法。

他使你受苦，任你饥饿，把你和你的列祖不认识的吗哪赐给你吃，使你知道人活着，不是单靠食物，更要靠耶和华口里所出的一切话。

以色列家给这食物起名叫“吗哪”，它像芫荽的种子，色白，味道像搀蜜的薄饼。

他们都吃了一样的灵粮，

他们吃了那地的出产之后，第二天吗哪就停止降下；以色列人不再有吗哪了；那一年他们却吃迦南地的出产。

我们的祖宗在旷野吃过吗哪，正如经上所记：‘他把从天上来的食物赐给他们吃。’”耶稣对他们说：“我实实在在告诉你们，不是摩西把那从天上来的食物赐给你们，而是我父把天上来的真食物赐给你们；

这就是从天上降下来的食物，不像吗哪，你们的祖宗吃过，还是死了；吃这食物的，必活到永远。”

你从天上赐下粮食，给他们充饥，吩咐水从磐石流出来给他们解渴；你又吩咐他们进去占领，你举手起誓要赐给他们的那地。

“你们都来，吃我的饼，喝我调配的酒。

就反抗神和摩西，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，又没有水，我们的心厌恶这淡薄的食物。”

你们的祖宗在旷野吃过吗哪，还是死了。

你赐下良善的灵教导他们；你没有留住吗哪不给他们吃；你给他们水解渴。

因为这一切都是世上不信的人所寻求的。你们的父原知道你们需要这一切。

摩西对亚伦说：“拿一个罐子来，装满两公升吗哪，存放在耶和华面前，保留起来给你们的后代。”

他在旷野把你的列祖不认识的吗哪赐给你吃，是要使你受苦，要试炼你，使你终久得到福乐；

圣灵向众教会所说的话，有耳的就应当听。得胜的，我必定把那隐藏的吗哪赐给他，并且赐他一块白石，石上写着新的名字，这名字除了那领受的人以外，是没有人能知道的。’

里面有金香坛，有全部包金的约柜，柜里有盛着吗哪的金罐、亚伦那发过芽的杖和两块约板。
