于是摩西就把她们的案件呈到耶和华面前。

那时，我站在耶和华和你们中间，要把耶和华的话告诉你们；你们因为惧怕那火，所以没有上到山上来，耶和华说：

他们对摩西说：“求你和我们说话吧，我们必定听你的话，不可让神和我们说话，恐怕我们死亡。”

耶和华与约瑟同在，约瑟就事事顺利，住在他主人埃及人的家里。

神回答：“我必与你同在；你把人民从埃及领出来的时候，你们要在这山上事奉神；这就是我派你去的凭据。”

现在去吧，我必赐你口才，指教你当说的。”

摩西回答他岳父：“因为人民到我这里来求问神。

“你出去和你的仇敌作战的时候，看见马匹、车辆和比你多的人群，你不要怕他们，因为那把你们从埃及地领上来的耶和华你的神，与你同在。

我吩咐你们的一切，都要教导他们遵守。这样，我就常常与你们同在，直到这世代的终结。”

教导智慧人，他就越有智慧；指教义人，他就增加学问。

于是，摩西听从他岳父的话，照着他所说的行了。

我不是吩咐过你要坚强勇敢吗？所以，你不要惧怕，也不要惊慌；因为你无论到哪里去，耶和华你的神必与你同在。”

他要替你向人民说话，他要作你的口，你要作他的神。

婢女又想：‘我主我王的话必能使我得安慰，因为我主我王像神的使者一样，能分辨是非。愿耶和华你的神与你同在。’”
