If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.”

你和這些百姓必都疲憊；因為這事太重，你獨自一人辦理不了。

撒母耳不喜悅他們說「立一個王治理我們」，他就禱告耶和華。耶和華對撒母耳說：「百姓向你說的一切話，你只管依從；因為他們不是厭棄你，乃是厭棄我，不要我作他們的王。

軍兵卻說：「你不可出戰。若是我們逃跑，敵人必不介意；我們陣亡一半，敵人也不介意。因為你一人強似我們萬人，你不如在城裏預備幫助我們。」

然而，我在肉身活着，為你們更是要緊的。我既然這樣深信，就知道仍要住在世間，且與你們眾人同住，使你們在所信的道上又長進又喜樂，

你們看！耶和華既將安息日賜給你們，所以第六天他賜給你們兩天的食物，第七天各人要住在自己的地方，不許甚麼人出去。」
