Then Jesus said to them,“ The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”

On the first day of the week, we gathered with the local believers to share in the Lord’s Supper. Paul was preaching to them, and since he was leaving the next day, he kept talking until midnight.

He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains.The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too.Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today!

Then God blessed them and said,“ Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
