Then Solomon said,“ The Lord has said that he would dwell in thick darkness.

He bowed the heavens and came down; thick darkness was under his feet.

Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent.

Then Solomon said,“ The Lord has said that he would dwell in thick darkness.

who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud on the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp trembled.Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their stand at the foot of the mountain.

“ These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

Out of the brightness before him hailstones and coals of fire broke through his clouds.

while I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord. For you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up into the mountain. He said:
