Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

Then Moses took the blood from the basins and splattered it over the people, declaring,“ Look, this blood confirms the covenant the Lord has made with you in giving you these instructions.”

因為公牛和山羊的血是不能把罪除掉的。所以基督進入世界的時候，他仿彿是用詩人的話來說：『祭物和供物、你未嘗願要過，你只為我豫備了身體以自獻為祭。

摩西把一半的血放在盆裏，一半的血潑在祭壇上。

我必用清水灑洗你們，你們就潔淨、沒有任何污穢；我必潔淨你們、除掉你們一切的偶像。

喫了餅以後，拿杯也照樣子；他說：『這杯是新的約，用我的血立的；你們每逢喝的時候，總要這樣行，來記念我。』

因為這是我的血，盟約的血，為許多人流出來，使罪得赦免的。

願賜平安的上帝、就是那憑永世之約的血把羣羊的大牧人、我們的主耶穌、從死人中領上來的、

耶穌對他們說：『這是我的血、盟約的血、替許多人流出來的。

照父上帝所豫知、靠靈之聖化、而聽從耶穌基督、受他血灑的。願你們多多蒙恩平安。

錫安哪、你，你也如此，為了和你立的約之血、我必將你中間被擄被囚的人從無水坑中釋放出來。

照樣，他也必使許多國的人震驚；君王必因他而閉口驚訝；因為所未曾向他們敘述的、他們必看見；他們所未曾聽見的、他們必明白。

摩西取點兒抹的膏油和祭壇上的一點兒血、彈在亞倫和他的衣服上、跟他的兒子們和他兒子們的衣服上；把亞倫和他的衣服分別為聖，也把他的兒子們和他兒子們的衣服、都分別為聖。

在這蒙愛者裏面、我們藉着他的血得贖放，過犯得赦免，都照上帝恩典之豐富。

所以就是先前的約也不是沒有用血開創的。當時各條誡命既由摩西按照律法向眾民宣講了，他就拿牛犢山羊的血，用水和朱紅絨跟牛膝草、灑在那書卷上，並且灑在眾民身上，說：『這就是上帝向你們立誡命的約之血』。就是帳幕和禮拜用的一切器皿，他也照樣地用血灑。
