“ Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning.

“ Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil made from pressed olives. Use it to keep the lamps burning and giving light.

“ You shall command the people of Israel that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, that a lamp may regularly be set up to burn.

“ You are to command the Israelites to bring you pure oil from crushed olives for the light, in order to keep the lamp burning regularly.

“ And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.

And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. (niv)

“ Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them.Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand— three on one side and three on the other.Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand.And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair— six branches in all.The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.“ Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. (niv)

Then I asked the angel,“ What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?”Again I asked him,“ What are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?”He replied,“ Do you not know what these are?”“ No, my lord,” I said.So he said,“ These are the two who are anointed to serve the Lord of all the earth.” (niv)

The Lord said to Moses,“ Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the Lord from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the Lord must be tended continually. (niv)

They are“ the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and“ they stand before the Lord of the earth.” (niv)
