耶和华已经准许你和你所有的弟兄，就是利未的子孙，一同亲近他，你们还要求祭司的职分吗？

你怎样膏他们的父亲，也要照样膏他们，使他们成为事奉我的祭司。他们受了膏，就必世世代代永远得祭司的职分。”

并蒙神照着麦基洗德的体系宣称他为大祭司。

你要指派亚伦和他的儿子谨守祭司的职分；近前来的外人必被处死。”

没有人可擅自取得大祭司的尊荣，惟有蒙神所选召的才可以，像亚伦一样。同样，基督也没有自取作大祭司的荣耀，而是在乎向他说话的那一位，他说：“你是我的儿子，我今日生了你。”

这七天，你们不可走出会幕的门口，直等到你们圣职礼的日子满了，因为授予你们圣职需要七天。

摩西说：“今天你们要奉献自己来事奉耶和华，因为各人牺牲自己的儿子和弟兄，使耶和华今天赐福给你们。”

那么，如果百姓藉着利未人的祭司职任能达到完全—因为百姓是在这职分下领受律法的—为什么还需要按照麦基洗德的体系另外兴起一位祭司，而不按照亚伦的体系呢？既然祭司的职分已更改，律法也需要更改。因为这些话所指的人本属别的支派，那支派里从来没有一人在祭坛前事奉的。很明显地，我们的主是从犹大出来的；但关于这支派，摩西并没有提到祭司。

这是他和他的后裔永远当祭司职任的约，因他为了神而妒忌，他为以色列人赎罪。’”

有火从耶和华那里出来，吞灭了那上香的二百五十人。

“你要从以色列人中，叫你的哥哥亚伦和他的儿子拿答、亚比户、以利亚撒、以他玛一同亲近你，作事奉我的祭司。

因为耶和华—你的神从你众支派中拣选他，使他和他子孙永远奉耶和华的名侍立、事奉。

“你要为亚伦的儿子做内袍、腰带、头巾，以示尊严和华美。要把这些给你哥哥亚伦和他的儿子穿戴，又要膏他们，授予圣职，使他们分别为圣，作事奉我的祭司。

给以色列人作纪念，为要叫亚伦子孙之外的人不得近前来，在耶和华面前烧香，免得他和可拉与同他一伙的人一样，正如耶和华藉摩西所吩咐的。

一方面，那些成为祭司的数目本来多，是因为受死亡限制不能长久留住。另一方面，这位既是永远留住的，他具有不可更换的祭司职任。所以，凡靠着他进到神面前的人，他都能拯救到底，因为他长远活着为他们祈求。这样一位圣洁、无邪恶、无玷污、远离罪人、高过诸天的大祭司，对我们是最合适的；他不像那些大祭司，每日必须先为自己的罪，后为百姓的罪献祭，因为他只一次将自己献上就把这事成全了。律法所立的大祭司本是有弱点的人，但在律法以后，神以起誓的话立了儿子为大祭司，成为完全，直到永远。
