“ Make an altar of acacia wood for burning incense.

“ Make an altar for burning incense. Make it out of acacia wood.

“ You shall make an altar on which to burn incense; you shall make it of acacia wood.

“ Then make another altar of acacia wood for burning incense.

“ You are to make an altar for the burning of incense; make it of acacia wood.

“ Now you shall make an altar as a place for burning incense; you shall make it of acacia wood.

“ You shall make an altar to burn incense on; you shall make it of acacia wood.

And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of acacia wood shalt thou make it.

“ You are to make an altar for the burning of incense; make it of acacia wood.

And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon:[ of] shittim wood shalt thou make it.

Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. (niv)

They made the altar of incense out of acacia wood. It was square, a cubit long and a cubit wide and two cubits high— its horns of one piece with it.They overlaid the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and made a gold molding around it.They made two gold rings below the molding— two on each of the opposite sides— to hold the poles used to carry it.They made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold. Place the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the covenant law and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. (niv)

The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the bull’s blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting. (niv)

“ Aaron must burn fragrant incense on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps.He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the Lord for the generations to come. (niv)

But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the Lord his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. (niv)

Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering for the generations to come. It is most holy to the Lord.” (niv)
