爾散於列國時、我使爾猶有遺民、得脫鋒刃、居於異邦、爾中得脫者、必在擄至之異邦繫念我、追思曩昔、心邪離棄我、目邪從偶像、使我憂傷、遂因所作之惡事、及諸可憎之事、自怨自恨、是時彼則知我乃主、我言降此災於其身、所言非虛、○

主天主又曰、此國獲罪、我目鑒察、必滅之於地上、雖然、我不盡滅雅各族、我必發命、簸散以色列族於列邦、若簸揚於篩、若簸揚於篩或作如以篩篩穀一粒之穀、不使隕落於地、

若萬有之主、不為我儕少有所遺、則必如所多瑪然、與俄摩拉無異矣、

蓋主如是云、全地必荒蕪、然我不盡滅之、

我儕犯罪違背、作惡叛逆、棄主之誡命法度、主之僕諸先知、奉主之命、勸教我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖、及國之庶民、俱弗聽從、猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因獲罪於主、主逐之散於各邦、或近或遠、有若今日之景況、我儕遭此、面蒙羞愧、惟主至公至義、主歟、我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖獲罪於主、面蒙羞愧、我儕雖悖逆主我之天主、主仍矜憫赦宥、我儕不聽從主我天主之命、不遵行主藉主之僕、諸先知、所賜我之律法、我以色列眾犯主律法、不聽從主命、我既獲罪於主、故主之僕摩西律法書、所載之諸災、臨於我身、所載之諸災臨於我身原文作所載之咒與誓傾於我身主素警戒我儕及治我之士師、士師或作長者必降大災於我儕、今主之言已應矣、耶路撒冷所遇之災、天下各處、未嘗遭遇、

斯國於列國中、景象如油果已收、葡萄已摘、留存無幾、

我之列祖勤勞所得之羊群牛群、及其子女、自我立國立國原文作幼時下同以來、悉為可恥者吞噬、我儕自立國至今、我儕與列祖獲罪於主、我之天主、不聽主我天主之命、故我若臥於羞辱、恥辱蒙蔽我身、

以色列乎、爾民雖多若海沙、僅有遺民歸正、蓋滅絕已定、主之善義遍施、如水之漲溢、

主曰、我護祐爾、拯救爾、我散爾於列邦、雖盡滅此邦、而不盡滅爾、雖不以爾為無罪、我仍責爾惟寛、○

其中所遺、雖僅十分之一、亦歸滅絕、然猶存聖裔、為斯地之根本、如栗樹橡樹、雖經斬伐、根本尚存、或作譬彼栗樹橡樹斬伐枝條尚留根株聖種猶存為斯地之根本亦復若是

若不稍減其日、則無一人得救、但為蒙選者、其日必減、

其軍惟餘數人、如林之餘木無幾、小子可核而書之、

彼與列邦人皆必問曰、主何為如此待此地、其怒若是之烈何故、人必對曰、緣斯民列祖之主天主、昔導之出伊及、與之立約而民背之、往奉事叩拜異邦之神、即素所不識之神、主未嘗命彼奉事者、故主震怒斯地、以此書所載之諸禍禍或作詛降之、大震其怒、氣忿甚烈、以斯民由其地拔除、投棄於異邦、有如今日之事、

如爾及爾子孫背逆我、不守我所賜爾之誡命律例、往而奉事崇拜他神、則我將於所賜之地、翦滅以色列人、必擯棄為我名所區別為聖之殿、使以色列人為萬民作歌譏刺、此殿今雖崇高、凡過之者、必驚訝歎息歎息或作作嗤笑之聲曰、主如是行於斯地與斯殿何故、則必答曰、緣斯民棄主其天主、昔導其列祖出伊及者、親暱他神、奉事崇拜、故主降以是災、○

以賽亞指以色列人呼云、以色列眾子、雖如海沙、而得救者惟餘數耳、

彼時必認己之罪、及其列祖之罪、即干我逆我以行之罪、我依其逆行、散之於敵國、後若其剛愎之心、剛愎之心或作不淨之心自卑以服罪、

引至永生、其門窄、其路狹、得之者少、○

天主何以應之、曰、我為己遺七千人、未屈膝於巴勒者、今時亦然、猶有遺留之人、乃由恩寵蒙選者、

我必使爾後裔多如地之塵沙然、若人能核數地之塵沙、則爾之後裔亦可核數、

爾追念爾之惡行、及諸不善之作為、則因爾之罪愆、及爾諸可憎之事、自怨自恨、
