“人子啊！至於你，你要拍手說預言，要接二連三地使用這殺人的刀，就是導致極大死傷的刀，把它們圍困，

“人子啊，你要拍掌预言。我耶和华要使这刀，就是致死伤的刀，一连三次加倍刺人，进入他们的内屋，使大人受死伤的就是这刀。

“人子啊，你要拍掌预言，使这刀三番两次临到；这是致人死伤的刀，就是包围人，使人大受死伤的刀。

“人子啊，你要拍掌预言，使这刀三番两次临到；这是致人死伤的刀，就是包围人，使人大受死伤的刀。

“人子啊，你要拍掌对他们说预言，你要拿刀挥舞两三次，预示这刀要从四面八方大肆杀戮，

「人子啊，你要拍掌對他們說預言，你要拿刀揮舞兩三次，預示這刀要從四面八方大肆殺戮，

『因此人子啊，你要傳神言；拍掌講話：要再次再三地使這刀，就是刺人致死的刀，刺死大人物的刀，就是在他們四圍的，

人子歟、爾其預言而鼓掌、使刃再三行戮、此刃即重傷大人、入諸密室者、

惟爾人子、當鼓爾掌、言未來事、使刃三至、殺戮人民、入諸密室、誅滅大人。

惟爾人子、當鼓掌言未來事、言未來事或作述預言下同使刃至再至三、此刃殺戮多民、入其密室、誅滅大人、使刃至再至三此刃殺戮多民入其密室誅滅大人或作此刃必再三行殺戮此乃殺戮多人之刃此乃殺戮大人之刃必入其密室

“ So then, son of man, prophesy and strike your hands together. Let the sword strike twice, even three times. It is a sword for slaughter— a sword for great slaughter, closing in on them from every side.

“ Son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands. Let the sword strike twice. Let it strike even three times. It is a sword to kill people. It is a sword to kill many people. It is closing in on them from every side.

“ As for you, son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands and let the sword come down twice, yes, three times, the sword for those to be slain. It is the sword for the great slaughter, which surrounds them,

“ Son of man, prophesy to them and clap your hands. Then take the sword and brandish it twice, even three times, to symbolize the great massacre, the great massacre facing them on every side.

“ So you, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands together: Let the sword strike two times, even three. It is a sword for massacre, a sword for great massacre— it surrounds them!

“ You therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword for the slain. It is the sword for the great one slain, which surrounds them,

“ You therefore, son of man, prophesy, And strike your hands together. The third time let the sword do double damage. It is the sword that slays, The sword that slays the great men, That enters their private chambers.

Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one that is deadly wounded, which entereth into their chambers.

Therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands together. Let the sword strike two times, even three. It is a sword for massacre, a sword for great massacre— it surrounds them!

巴勒向巴蘭生氣，就拍起手；巴勒對巴蘭說：“我請你來咒詛我的敵人，如今你反倒祝福他們這三次。

約雅敬在位的時候，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來攻打他，約雅敬就臣服他三年，後來卻反悔，背叛他。

那時，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的臣僕來到耶路撒冷，城就被圍困。尼布甲尼撒的臣僕正在圍城的時候，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒親自來到耶路撒冷。猶大王約雅斤和他的母親、眾臣僕、眾領袖，以及眾太監，出城投降巴比倫王。巴比倫王於是捉住他。那時，是巴比倫王在位第八年。他又從耶路撒冷把耶和華殿一切寶物和王宮的寶物取去，並且把以色列王所羅門在耶和華殿所做的一切金器都搗毀，就像耶和華所說的。他又擄去耶路撒冷的眾民、眾領袖，以及英勇的戰士共一萬人，還有工匠、鐵匠；除了國民中最貧窮的以外，沒有剩下的。他把約雅斤擄到巴比倫去，又把太后、后妃、太監和國中的要員都從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫；還有七千位戰士，一千位工匠和鐵匠，全都是能作戰的勇士，巴比倫王把他們都擄到巴比倫去。

主耶和華這樣說：“你要拍手頓足，說：‘哀哉！因以色列家一切可憎的惡事，他們必倒在刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫之下。’

我也要與你們作對，按著你們的罪，再加重七倍擊打你們；

“如果你們行事為人與我的心意相違，不肯聽從我，我就要按著你們的罪，使災禍加重七倍地臨到你們。

米該雅說：“你進密室躲藏的那一天，就必看見了。”

我也要拍手，並且要使我的烈怒止息；這是我耶和華說的。”

他對我說：“人子啊！以色列家的眾長老各在自己偶像的房間裡暗中所行的，你看見了嗎？他們說：‘耶和華看不見我們，耶和華已經離開這地了。’”

如果他們下到陰間，就是在那裡，我的手必把他們揪上來；如果他們升到天上，就是在那裡，我必把他們拉下來；

當時尼布甲尼撒向沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌大發烈怒，連臉色也變了，吩咐人把窰燒熱，比平常猛烈七倍。

西底家作王第九年十月十日，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒率領他的全軍來攻打耶路撒冷；他們在城外安營，又在四圍築壘攻城。於是，城被圍困，直到西底家王第十一年。四月九日，城裡饑荒非常嚴重，甚至那地的人民都斷了糧食。城終於被攻破了，所有的戰士就在夜間從靠近王的花園的兩牆中間的那門，逃跑出城。那時迦勒底人在四圍攻城；他們就往亞拉巴的方向逃走。迦勒底人的軍隊追趕王，在耶利哥的原野上把他追上了；他的全軍都離開他四散了。他們把王擒住，把他解到利比拉巴比倫王那裡；他們就宣判他的罪。他們又在西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，並且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然後用銅鍊鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。

餘下來的都逃入亞弗城裡，城牆倒塌，壓死了餘下來的二萬七千人。便．哈達也逃到城裡來，躲進一間密室裡。
