“ And you, son of man, prophesy, and clap your hands together. Let the sword strike twice, even three times! It is a sword for slaughter, a sword for the great slaughter surrounding them.

『因此人子啊，你要傳神言；拍掌講話：要再次再三地使這刀，就是刺人致死的刀，刺死大人物的刀，就是在他們四圍的，

人子歟、爾其預言而鼓掌、使刃再三行戮、此刃即重傷大人、入諸密室者、

惟爾人子、當鼓爾掌、言未來事、使刃三至、殺戮人民、入諸密室、誅滅大人。

惟爾人子、當鼓掌言未來事、言未來事或作述預言下同使刃至再至三、此刃殺戮多民、入其密室、誅滅大人、使刃至再至三此刃殺戮多民入其密室誅滅大人或作此刃必再三行殺戮此乃殺戮多人之刃此乃殺戮大人之刃必入其密室

“ So then, son of man, prophesy and strike your hands together. Let the sword strike twice, even three times. It is a sword for slaughter— a sword for great slaughter, closing in on them from every side.

“ Son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands. Let the sword strike twice. Let it strike even three times. It is a sword to kill people. It is a sword to kill many people. It is closing in on them from every side.

“ As for you, son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands and let the sword come down twice, yes, three times, the sword for those to be slain. It is the sword for the great slaughter, which surrounds them,

“ Son of man, prophesy to them and clap your hands. Then take the sword and brandish it twice, even three times, to symbolize the great massacre, the great massacre facing them on every side.

“ So you, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands together: Let the sword strike two times, even three. It is a sword for massacre, a sword for great massacre— it surrounds them!

“ You therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword for the slain. It is the sword for the great one slain, which surrounds them,

Then Balak became very angry at Balaam, and he struck his hands together. Balak said to Balaam,“ I called you to curse my enemies, and look, you have done nothing but bless them these three times!

During Jehoiakim’s reign, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked. Jehoiakim was his subject for three years, but then he rebelled against him.

At that time the generals of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon marched to Jerusalem and besieged the city.King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to the city while his generals were besieging it.King Jehoiachin of Judah, along with his mother, his servants, his officials, and his eunuchs surrendered to the king of Babylon. The king of Babylon, in the eighth year of his reign, took Jehoiachin prisoner.Nebuchadnezzar took from there all the riches in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and of the royal palace. He removed all the gold items which King Solomon of Israel had made for the LORD’s temple, just as the LORD had warned.He deported all the residents of Jerusalem, including all the officials and all the soldiers( 10,000 people in all). This included all the craftsmen and those who worked with metal. No one was left except for the poorest among the people of the land.He deported Jehoiachin from Jerusalem to Babylon, along with the king’s mother and wives, his eunuchs, and the high-ranking officials of the land.The king of Babylon deported to Babylon all the soldiers( there were 7,000), as well as 1,000 craftsmen and metal workers. This included all the best warriors.

“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and say,“ Ah!” because of all the evil, abominable practices of the house of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, famine, and pestilence.

I myself will also walk in hostility against you and strike you seven times on account of your sins.

“‘ If you walk in hostility against me and are not willing to obey me, I will increase your affliction seven times according to your sins.

Micaiah replied,“ Look, you will see in the day when you go into an inner room to hide.”

I too will clap my hands together, I will exhaust my rage; I the LORD have spoken.”

He said to me,“ Do you see, son of man, what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in the chamber of his idolatrous images? For they think,‘ The LORD does not see us! The LORD has abandoned the land!’”

Even if they could dig down into the netherworld, my hand would pull them up from there. Even if they could climb up to heaven, I would drag them down from there.

Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage, and his disposition changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven times hotter than it was normally heated.

So King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came against Jerusalem with his whole army and set up camp outside it. They built siege ramps all around it. He arrived on the tenth day of the tenth month in the ninth year of Zedekiah’s reign.The city remained under siege until King Zedekiah’s eleventh year.By the ninth day of the fourth month the famine in the city was so severe the residents had no food.The enemy broke through the city walls, and all the soldiers tried to escape. They left the city during the night. They went through the gate between the two walls that is near the king’s garden.( The Babylonians were all around the city.) Then they headed for the Jordan Valley.But the Babylonian army chased after the king. They caught up with him in the plains of Jericho, and his entire army deserted him.They captured the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah, where he passed sentence on him.Zedekiah’s sons were executed while Zedekiah was forced to watch. The king of Babylon then had Zedekiah’s eyes put out, bound him in bronze chains, and carried him off to Babylon.

The remaining 27,000 ran to Aphek and went into the city, but the wall fell on them. Now Ben Hadad ran into the city and hid in an inner room.
