“ Son of man, set your face against Jerusalem and preach against the sanctuary. Prophesy against the land of Israel

“ Son of man, turn your attention to Jerusalem. Preach against the temple. Prophesy against the land of Israel.

“ Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem and preach against the sanctuaries. Prophesy against the land of Israel

“ Son of man, turn and face Jerusalem and prophesy against Israel and her sanctuaries.

“ Son of man, face Jerusalem and preach against the sanctuaries. Prophesy against the land of Israel,

You must turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared and prophesy against it.

Then for your part take an iron frying pan and set it up as an iron wall between you and the city. Set your face toward it. It is to be under siege; you are to besiege it. This is a sign for the house of Israel.

Pray for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak– that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel,

“ As for you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say:‘ O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD!

So now listen to the LORD’s message! You say,‘ Don’t prophesy against Israel! Don’t preach against the family of Isaac!’

Then the priests and the prophets made their charges before the officials and all the people. They said,“ This man should be condemned to die because he prophesied against this city. You have heard him do so with your own ears.”Then Jeremiah made his defense before all the officials and all the people.“ The LORD sent me to prophesy everything you have heard me say against this temple and against this city.

They brought forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop saying things against this holy place and the law.For we have heard him saying that Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”

“ Son of man, turn toward Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.

‘ Don’t preach with such impassioned rhetoric,’ they say excitedly.‘ These prophets should not preach of such things; we will not be overtaken by humiliation.’

“ Son of man, turn toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them:

“ Son of man, turn toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy against him

If a lying windbag should come and say,‘ I’ll promise you blessings of wine and beer,’ he would be just the right preacher for these people!

My teaching will drop like the rain, my sayings will drip like the dew, as rain drops upon the grass, and showers upon new growth.
