「他們以暴力搶奪，堆積在自己的宮殿裏，卻不懂得行正直的事。」這是耶和華說的。

為要扭曲貧寒人的案件，奪去我民中困苦人的理，以寡婦當作擄物，以孤兒當作掠物。

「若有外人寄居在你們的地上和你同住，不可欺負他。

因你們的手掌被血沾染，你們的指頭被罪玷污，你們的嘴唇說謊言，你們的舌頭出惡語。無人按公義控訴，也無人憑誠實辯白；卻倚靠虛妄，口說謊言，懷毒害，生罪孽。他們孵毒蛇蛋，結蜘蛛網。凡吃這蛋的必死，蛋一打破，就孵出蛇來。所結的網不能當衣服，無法掩蓋自己所作所為。他們的行為全是邪惡，手所做的盡都殘暴。他們的腳奔跑行惡，急速流無辜者的血；他們的思想全是惡念，走過的路盡是破壞與毀滅。

他們看上田地就佔據，貪圖房屋便奪取；他們欺壓戶主和他的家庭，霸佔人和他的產業。

虧負困苦和貧窮的人，搶奪別人的物件，不歸還抵押品，卻向偶像舉目，做可憎的事；

「因為他們從最小的到最大的都貪圖不義之財，從先知到祭司全都行事虛假。

工人給你們收割莊稼，你們剋扣他們的工錢；這工錢在喊冤，而且收割工人的冤聲已經進入萬軍之主的耳朵了。

在我百姓當中有惡人，他們埋伏，好像捕鳥的人在窺探；他們設羅網陷害人。籠子怎樣裝滿雀鳥，他們的屋裏也照樣充滿詭詐；他們因此得以強大富足。他們肥胖光潤，作惡過甚，不為人伸冤，不為孤兒伸冤，使他們勝訴，也不為貧窮人辯護。

你們吃我百姓的肉，剝他們的皮，打斷他們的骨頭，如切塊下鍋，如釜中的肉。

我流浪在外，你們沒有留我住；我赤身露體，你們沒有給我穿；我病了，我在監獄裏，你們沒有來看顧我。』
