For they think,‘ The LORD does not see us! The LORD has abandoned the land!’”He said to me,“ You will see them practicing even greater abominations!”Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the LORD’s house. I noticed women sitting there weeping for Tammuz.He said to me,“ Do you see this, son of man? You will see even greater abominations than these!”Then he brought me to the inner court of the LORD’s house. Right there at the entrance to the LORD’s temple, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the LORD’s temple, facing east– they were worshiping the sun toward the east!

He built altars in the LORD’s temple, about which the LORD had said,“ Jerusalem will be my home.”

So I registered a complaint with the nobles of Judah, saying to them,“ What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?Isn’t this the way your ancestors acted, causing our God to bring on them and on this city all this misfortune? And now you are causing even more wrath on Israel, profaning the Sabbath like this!”

“ Therefore, as surely as I live, says the sovereign LORD, because you defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable idols and with all your abominable practices, I will withdraw; my eye will not pity you, nor will I spare you.
