And you will do as I have done. You will not cover your mustache and beard or eat the customary food of mourners.

So do what Ezekiel did. Do not cover your mustache and beard. Do not eat the food people eat to comfort them when someone dies.

And you shall do as I have done; you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

Then you will do as Ezekiel has done. You will not mourn in public or console yourselves by eating the food brought by friends.

Then you will do just as I have done: You will not cover your mustache or eat the bread of mourners.

因為聽見戰馬的蹄聲，還有戰車轔轔和車輪轆轆的響聲，作父親的雙手酸軟無力，不能照顧他們的兒女。

他的遺族在死人中埋葬，他的寡婦也都不哀哭。

“他們都必死於致命的疫症，沒有人為他們哀哭，他們的屍體也沒有人埋葬，必在地面上成為糞肥。他們必被刀劍和饑荒所滅，他們的屍體成了空中飛鳥和地上走獸的食物。”耶和華這樣說：“你不可進入喪家，也不可去為他們哀哭悲傷；因為我已經從這人民身上收回我的平安、慈愛和憐憫。”這是耶和華的宣告。“尊大的和卑微的都必死在這地；沒有人埋葬他們，沒有人為他們哀哭，也沒有人為他們割傷自己，剃光頭髮。沒有人為哀悼的人擘餅，為死者安慰他們；喪父或喪母的人，都沒有人給他們喝一杯安慰酒。

“人子啊！我要打擊你，把你眼中所喜愛的奪去，你卻不可悲哀，不可哭泣，也不可流淚。只可靜默地歎息，不可為死人哀悼；你的頭上仍要纏著頭巾，腳上仍要穿著鞋子；你不可蒙著臉，也不可吃為喪家預備的食物。”
