故我必伸手於以東、絕其人畜、使之荒涼、自提幔至於底但、其人俱隕於刃、

故我耶和華必擊以東、俾人畜俱無噍類、使提慢荒蕪、底但人飲刃、

故主天主如是云、我必舉手降罰以東、絕人與畜於其間、使以東地荒蕪、自提幔至於底但、俱必殞亡於刃、

therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and kill both man and beast. I will lay it waste, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.

The Lord continues,“ I will reach out my hand against Edom. I will kill its people and their animals. I will completely destroy it. They will be killed by swords from Teman all the way to Dedan.

therefore thus says the Lord God, I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. And I will make it desolate; from Teman even to Dedan they shall fall by the sword.

Therefore, says the Sovereign Lord, I will raise my fist of judgment against Edom. I will wipe out its people and animals with the sword. I will make a wasteland of everything from Teman to Dedan.

therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off both people and animals from it. I will make it a wasteland; they will fall by the sword from Teman to Dedan.

therefore this is what the Lord God says:“ I will also reach out with My hand against Edom and eliminate human and animal life from it. And I will turn it into ruins; from Teman even to Dedan they will fall by the sword.

therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, cut off man and beast from it, and make it desolate from Teman; Dedan shall fall by the sword.

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, I will stretch out my hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; even unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

therefore this is what the Lord God says: I will stretch out My hand against Edom and cut off both man and animal from it. I will make it a wasteland; they will fall by the sword from Teman to Dedan.

So this is what the sovereign LORD says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom, and I will kill the people and animals within her, and I will make her desolate; from Teman to Dedan they will die by the sword.

therefore the Lord Yahweh says,“ I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan.

“‘ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will bring a sword against you and kill both man and beast. (niv)

Dedan, Tema, Buz and all who are in distant places; (niv)

but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his hill country into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.”Edom may say,“ Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins.” But this is what the Lord Almighty says:“ They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of the Lord. (niv)

Concerning Edom: This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?Turn and flee, hide in deep caves, you who live in Dedan, for I will bring disaster on Esau at the time when I punish him. (niv)

Therefore, hear what the Lord has planned against Edom, what he has purposed against those who live in Teman: The young of the flock will be dragged away; their pasture will be appalled at their fate. (niv)

I will send fire on Teman that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.” (niv)

therefore I will stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will wipe you out from among the nations and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the Lord.’” (niv)

“‘ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place— on man and beast, on the trees of the field and on the crops of your land— and it will burn and not be quenched. (niv)

“ Or if I bring a sword against that country and say,‘ Let the sword pass throughout the land,’ and I kill its people and their animals, (niv)

The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz. (niv)

I will set my face against them and make them an example and a byword. I will remove them from my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord. (niv)

So the Lord said,“ I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created— and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground— for I regret that I have made them.” (niv)

“ Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its people and their animals, (niv)

“ Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath on it through bloodshed, killing its people and their animals,as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.“ For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments— sword and famine and wild beasts and plague— to kill its men and their animals! Come near, you nations, and listen; pay attention, you peoples! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes out of it!The Lord is angry with all nations; his wrath is on all their armies. He will totally destroy them, he will give them over to slaughter.Their slain will be thrown out, their dead bodies will stink; the mountains will be soaked with their blood.All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree.My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; see, it descends in judgment on Edom, the people I have totally destroyed.The sword of the Lord is bathed in blood, it is covered with fat— the blood of lambs and goats, fat from the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.And the wild oxen will fall with them, the bull calves and the great bulls. Their land will be drenched with blood, and the dust will be soaked with fat.For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause.Edom’s streams will be turned into pitch, her dust into burning sulfur; her land will become blazing pitch!It will not be quenched night or day; its smoke will rise forever. From generation to generation it will lie desolate; no one will ever pass through it again.The desert owl and screech owl will possess it; the great owl and the raven will nest there. God will stretch out over Edom the measuring line of chaos and the plumb line of desolation.Her nobles will have nothing there to be called a kingdom, all her princes will vanish away.Thorns will overrun her citadels, nettles and brambles her strongholds. She will become a haunt for jackals, a home for owls.Desert creatures will meet with hyenas, and wild goats will bleat to each other; there the night creatures will also lie down and find for themselves places of rest.The owl will nest there and lay eggs, she will hatch them, and care for her young under the shadow of her wings; there also the falcons will gather, each with its mate.Look in the scroll of the Lord and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Spirit will gather them together.He allots their portions; his hand distributes them by measure. They will possess it forever and dwell there from generation to generation. (niv)

Rejoice and be glad, Daughter Edom, you who live in the land of Uz. But to you also the cup will be passed; you will be drunk and stripped naked.Your punishment will end, Daughter Zion; he will not prolong your exile. But he will punish your sin, Daughter Edom, and expose your wickedness. (niv)

God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. (niv)

therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will wipe out the Kerethites and destroy those remaining along the coast. (niv)

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength?“ It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.”Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?“ I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood spattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing.It was for me the day of vengeance; the year for me to redeem had come.I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm achieved salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me.I trampled the nations in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground.” (niv)

Your warriors, Teman, will be terrified, and everyone in Esau’s mountains will be cut down in the slaughter. (niv)
