故我必使東方之人、據爾四境、建室廬於其間、必食爾果、飲爾乳、

故我必將爾地賜東方之人為業、彼於爾地、設其羊圈、立其帳幕、食爾果、飲爾乳、

therefore I am going to give you to the people of the East as a possession. They will set up their camps and pitch their tents among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.

So I am going to hand you over to the people of the east. They will set up their tents in your land. They will camp among you. They will eat your fruit. They will drink your milk.

therefore behold, I am handing you over to the people of the East for a possession, and they shall set their encampments among you and make their dwellings in your midst. They shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk.

I will allow nomads from the eastern deserts to overrun your country. They will set up their camps among you and pitch their tents on your land. They will harvest all your fruit and drink the milk from your livestock.

那时，米甸人、亚玛力人及东方人一起过了约旦河，在耶斯列的平原安营。

“与你们素不相识的民族必吃光你们土地的出产和劳碌所得，你们必常受欺压，

他们要吃光你们的牛羊、五谷、新酒和油，直到消灭你们。

你们的土地荒凉，城邑化为灰烬。你们亲眼目睹自己的田园被外族人侵吞、毁坏、变成不毛之地。

他的智慧高过东方人和埃及人的一切智慧，

那时，约押正攻打亚扪人的都城拉巴。

高尚的人计划高尚的事，在高尚的事上持之以恒。生活安逸的妇女啊，来听我的声音！无忧无虑的女子啊，要侧耳听我的言语！

他们建的房屋再不会被别人居住，他们种的果实再不会被别人享用。我的子民必像树木一样长寿，我拣选的人必长享自己亲手劳碌的成果。

每当他们撒种的时候，米甸人、亚玛力人及东方人就前来进犯，在他们境内安营，摧毁他们远至迦萨一带的庄稼，不给他们留下任何粮食，也不留下一只羊、一头牛或驴。入侵者带着牲畜和帐篷像蝗虫一样涌来，人和骆驼不计其数，摧毁了整个地区。以色列人因米甸人的入侵而极其贫乏，就呼求耶和华。

米甸人、亚玛力人及东方人像蝗虫一样布满山谷，他们的骆驼如海边的沙一样不计其数。

那时，西巴和撒慕拿率领东方各族的残余军队一万五千人驻扎在加各，因为已经有十二万刀兵被杀。

雅各继续前行，来到东方人住的地方，

“谁使一人从东方兴起？谁凭公义把他召到跟前？谁把列国交给他，使他征服列国的君王，用刀将他们化为尘土，用弓将他们沦为风吹的碎秸？

我要惩罚你们，使你们陷入恐慌、患痨病和热症，使你们眼睛昏花、心力衰竭。你们撒种却一无所获，因为敌人要吃尽你们所种的。

巴兰吟诗预言说：“巴勒引我出亚兰，摩押王请我出东山，说，‘来为我咒诅雅各，来斥责以色列！’
