「『因此，主耶和華說，看啊，我要使刀劍臨到你，消滅你的人畜，

因此，主耶和華這樣說：看哪！我必使刀劍攻擊你，把人和牲畜都從你那裡剪除。

『故此永恆主這麼說：看吧，我必使刀劍來攻擊你，將人和牲口都從你中間剪除掉；

故主耶和華曰、我必使刃臨爾、絕爾人畜、

故主耶和華曰我必使利刃臨於爾國、人獸俱被殲滅、

故主天主如是云、我必使鋒刃臨於爾、自爾中翦滅人與畜、

“‘ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will bring a sword against you and kill both man and beast.

So the Lord and King says,“ I will send Nebuchadnezzar’s sword against you. He will kill people and animals alike.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will bring a sword upon you, and will cut off from you man and beast,

“ Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will bring an army against you, O Egypt, and destroy both people and animals.

“‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: I am going to bring a sword against you and cut off both people and animals from you.

‘ Therefore the Lord God says this:“ Behold, I am going to bring upon you a sword, and I will cut off from you human and animal life.

‘ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ Surely I will bring a sword upon you and cut off from you man and beast.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and will cut off from thee man and beast.

“ Therefore this is what the Lord God says: I am going to bring a sword against you and wipe out man and animal from you.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and cut off man and beast out of thee.

“‘ Therefore, this is what the sovereign LORD says: Look, I am about to bring a sword against you, and I will kill every person and every animal.

“‘ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I will bring a sword on you, and will cut off man and animal from you.

“ Or if I bring a sword against that country and say,‘ Let the sword pass throughout the land,’ and I kill its people and their animals, (niv)

“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. (niv)

Once more fields will be bought in this land of which you say,‘ It is a desolate waste, without people or animals, for it has been given into the hands of the Babylonians.’ (niv)

“‘ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place— on man and beast, on the trees of the field and on the crops of your land— and it will burn and not be quenched. (niv)

A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down. (niv)

therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and kill both man and beast. I will lay it waste, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword. (niv)

So the Lord said,“ I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created— and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground— for I regret that I have made them.” (niv)

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am going to give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will carry off its wealth. He will loot and plunder the land as pay for his army.I have given him Egypt as a reward for his efforts because he and his army did it for me, declares the Sovereign Lord. (niv)

This is the message the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to attack Egypt:“ Announce this in Egypt, and proclaim it in Migdol; proclaim it also in Memphis and Tahpanhes:‘ Take your positions and get ready, for the sword devours those around you.’Why will your warriors be laid low? They cannot stand, for the Lord will push them down.They will stumble repeatedly; they will fall over each other. They will say,‘ Get up, let us go back to our own people and our native lands, away from the sword of the oppressor.’There they will exclaim,‘ Pharaoh king of Egypt is only a loud noise; he has missed his opportunity.’“ As surely as I live,” declares the King, whose name is the Lord Almighty,“ one will come who is like Tabor among the mountains, like Carmel by the sea.Pack your belongings for exile, you who live in Egypt, for Memphis will be laid waste and lie in ruins without inhabitant.“ Egypt is a beautiful heifer, but a gadfly is coming against her from the north.The mercenaries in her ranks are like fattened calves. They too will turn and flee together, they will not stand their ground, for the day of disaster is coming upon them, the time for them to be punished.Egypt will hiss like a fleeing serpent as the enemy advances in force; they will come against her with axes, like men who cut down trees.They will chop down her forest,” declares the Lord,“ dense though it be. They are more numerous than locusts, they cannot be counted.Daughter Egypt will be put to shame, given into the hands of the people of the north.”The Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:“ I am about to bring punishment on Amon god of Thebes, on Pharaoh, on Egypt and her gods and her kings, and on those who rely on Pharaoh.I will give them into the hands of those who want to kill them— Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. Later, however, Egypt will be inhabited as in times past,” declares the Lord. (niv)

“ On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. (niv)

I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you, and their kings will shudder with horror because of you when I brandish my sword before them. On the day of your downfall each of them will tremble every moment for his life.“‘ For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you.I will cause your hordes to fall by the swords of mighty men— the most ruthless of all nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all her hordes will be overthrown.I will destroy all her cattle from beside abundant waters no longer to be stirred by the foot of man or muddied by the hooves of cattle.
