Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis; and there shall be no more a prince from the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

主耶和华如此说：“我必毁灭偶像，从挪弗除灭神像；必不再有君王出自埃及地。我要使埃及地的人惧怕。

“主耶和华说，‘我要毁灭偶像，铲除挪弗的神像。埃及再没有君王，国内到处充满恐惧。

主耶和华这样说：“‘我必毁灭偶像，使虚无的神像从挪弗灭绝。必不再有君王从埃及地而出；我也必使惧怕临到埃及地。

主耶和華如此說：我必毀滅偶像，從挪弗除滅神像；必不再有君王出自埃及地。我要使埃及地的人懼怕。

「主耶和華說，『我要毀滅偶像，剷除挪弗的神像。埃及再沒有君王，國內到處充滿恐懼。

主耶和華這樣說：“‘我必毀滅偶像，使虛無的神像從挪弗滅絕。必不再有君王從埃及地而出；我也必使懼怕臨到埃及地。

『主永恆主這麼說：我必毁滅偶像，必從挪弗使佛相滅絕：必不再有人君出自埃及地；我必將懼怕放於埃及地境內。

主耶和華曰、我必毀其偶像、絕其神像於挪弗、埃及不復有君、其地震驚、我使之然、

主耶和華又曰、我必斫其偶像、使不存於挪弗、埃及無君、庶民恐懼、

主天主如是云、我必毀滅偶像、自挪弗剿除神像、使伊及不復有君、使伊及人民、無不恐懼、

“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. No longer will there be a prince in Egypt, and I will spread fear throughout the land.

The Lord and King says,“ I will destroy the statues of Egypt’s gods. I will put an end to the gods the people in Memphis worship. Egypt will not have princes anymore. I will spread fear all through the land.

“ Thus says the Lord God:“ I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis; there shall no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt; so I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

“ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will smash the idols of Egypt and the images at Memphis. There will be no rulers left in Egypt; terror will sweep the land.

“‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: I will destroy the worthless idols and put an end to the false gods in Memphis. There will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt. And I will instill fear in that land.

‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ I will also destroy the idols And make the images cease from Memphis. And there will no longer be a prince in the land of Egypt; And I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ I will also destroy the idols, And cause the images to cease from Noph; There shall no longer be princes from the land of Egypt; I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

This is what the Lord God says: I will destroy the idols and put an end to the false gods in Memphis. There will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt. So I will instill fear in that land.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause[ their] images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: I will destroy the idols, and put an end to the gods of Memphis. There will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt; so I will make the land of Egypt fearful.

“‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis. There will be no more a prince from the land of Egypt. I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

And he will pass through the sea of affliction, and will smite the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart.

Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand forth, and prepare thee; for the sword hath devoured round about thee.

The children also of Memphis and Tahpanhes have broken the crown of thy head.

Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saith: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and them that trust in him:

Wherefore have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: terror is on every side, saith Jehovah.

For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first- born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Jehovah.

The burden of Egypt. Behold, Jehovah rideth upon a swift cloud, and cometh unto Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.And I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek unto the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.And I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and become dry.And the rivers shall become foul; the streams of Egypt shall be diminished and dried up; the reeds and flags shall wither away.The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, shall become dry, be driven away, and be no more.And the fishers shall lament, and all they that cast angle into the Nile shall mourn, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.Moreover they that work in combed flax, and they that weave white cloth, shall be confounded.And the pillars of Egypt shall be broken in pieces; all they that work for hire shall be grieved in soul.The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish; the counsel of the wisest counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?Where then are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now; and let them know what Jehovah of hosts hath purposed concerning Egypt.The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Memphis are deceived; they have caused Egypt to go astray, that are the corner- stone of her tribes.Jehovah hath mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.Neither shall there be for Egypt any work, which head or tail, palm- branch or rush, may do.In that day shall the Egyptians be like unto women; and they shall tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of Jehovah of hosts, which he shaketh over them.

For, lo, they are gone away from destruction; yet Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered; and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.He shall also break the pillars of Beth- shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews that dwelt in the land of Egypt, that dwelt at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

Jehovah will be terrible unto them; for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the nations.

and I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdom.It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it any more lift itself up above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
