I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man.

I will make the arms of the king of Babylon stronger. I will put my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh. And he will groan in front of Nebuchadnezzar. He will cry out like someone dying from his wounds.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded.

古实人哪！你们也必被我的刀剑所杀。

我必使巴比伦王的膀臂有力量，法老的膀臂却要下垂。我把我的刀交在巴比伦王手里，使他举刀攻击埃及地的时候，他们就知道我是耶和华。

“我耶和华所膏立的古列，我紧握着他的右手，使列国降服在他面前；我也松开列王的腰带；我使门户在他面前敞开，使城门不得关闭；耶和华对古列这样说：

其实他们众人是在恐吓我们，心里说：“他们的手必软弱，不能再作这工程，不会完工了！”现在，坚固我的手。

有人从城里唉哼，受伤的人呼求，神却不理会恶人的愚妄。

“我是耶和华，再没有别的神了；除了我以外，并没有真神；你虽然不认识我，我必坚固你，

如果我磨亮了我的刀剑，如果我掌握了审判权，就必向我的仇敌伸冤，必向恨我的人报应。我要使我的箭饮血饮醉，就是被杀的人和被掳的人的血；我的刀剑要吃肉，就是吃仇敌长发首领的肉。’

耶和华啊！求你起来，迎面攻击他们，把他们打倒；用你的刀救我的命脱离恶人。

“主耶和华对推罗这样说：‘杀戮在你中间发生，受伤的人都在唉哼的时候，众海岛岂不因你倾倒的声音而震动吗？

现在我已经亲自把这一切国家都交在我仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的手中，连田野的走兽，我也交给他，供他奴役。列国都要服事他和他的儿子、孙子，直到他本国遭报的时候来到；那时，许多国家和大君王都要奴役他。“‘无论哪一国、哪一邦，不服事巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒，不把颈项放在巴比伦王的轭下，我必用刀剑、饥荒和瘟疫去惩罚那国，直到我藉着巴比伦王的手把他们完全消灭。’这是耶和华的宣告。

他是那位以能力给我束腰的神，他使我的道路完全。

主耶和华这样说：“‘我必藉着巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的手，消灭埃及的财富。

你以能力给我束腰，使我能够作战；你又使那些起来攻击我的人都屈服在我的脚下。

因此，看哪！日子快到，这是耶和华的宣告。我必惩罚巴比伦的偶像，在巴比伦全境到处都有被刺伤的人在唉哼。

他必经过苦难的海，击打海中的波浪，尼罗河的深处也都要干涸；亚述的骄傲必降为卑；埃及的权势要过去。我必使我的子民因耶和华而强盛，他们要奉耶和华的名行事为人。”这是耶和华的宣告。

斧头怎可以向用斧头砍木的人自夸呢？锯子怎可以向拉锯的人自大呢？好比棍能挥动那举起棍的，又好比杖举起那不是木头的。

亚述啊！我怒气的棍子，有祸了。他们手中拿着我忿怒的杖。我要差派他去攻击一个不敬虔的国，吩咐他去攻击我恼怒的子民，掳去掠物，抢夺掳物，把他们践踏，像街上的泥土一样。
