I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man.

I will make the arms of the king of Babylon stronger. I will put my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh. And he will groan in front of Nebuchadnezzar. He will cry out like someone dying from his wounds.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded.

古實人歟、爾曹亦必為我刃所戮、

我必堅巴比倫王之臂、使法老之臂疲弱、我以我刃付於巴比倫王手、彼舉之以擊伊及、伊及人則知我乃主、

受膏王古列、為我耶和華所立、我扶其右手、使列國降服其前、使諸王柔弱無力、使諸邑門啟於其前、不得閉之、我對之如是曰、

彼眾皆欲使我懼、意謂、我必心灰、止息工作、致不得成、主歟、惟求鼓勵我、鼓勵我原文作堅我手○

城中居民歎息、被傷者中心悲哀、或作城中將死者歎息被戮者之靈鳴冤乃天主不顧此等罪惡、

我乃主、我之外無神可敬、我之外別無天主、爾雖不識我、我亦堅固爾、

我磨礪我刀利刃閃爍、我秉公義於我手中、必報復我敵、施報憾我之人、我使我矢飲血沈醉、使我之刀得肉餐食、飲見擄被殺者之血、食敵軍元帥頭之肉、

求主興起、前迎而敵之、使其傾跌、以主之刀救護我脫於惡人、

主天主告推羅曰、爾之城垣傾圮、見傷者號呼、居民被殺、洲島聞之、豈不震動、

今我以此諸國、賜我僕巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、亦以田野之百獸賜之、為其使役、列國之民必服事之、延及子孫、迨滅其國之時已屆、則眾多之邦國、強大之君王、必勒令巴比倫王服事、主又曰、若有民有國、不願服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、不願項負巴比倫王之軛、我必以鋒刃饑饉疫癘罰其民、直至我藉巴比倫王之手、滅之務盡、

天主賜我以力、使我道途通達、

當讚美我所倚賴如磐之主、因訓我臂善於爭戰、使我手手原文作指善於攻擊、

主天主如是云、我必藉巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒之手、使伊及民眾俱亡、

主賜我以力、使我能戰、使攻擊我者俱服於我下、

主曰、時日將至、我必降災於巴比倫之偶像、使巴比倫地、徧有受傷者咨嗟歎息、

主使民由苦海而過、或作主使民辛苦過海主必擊海之波濤、使河河即伊及之尼羅河之一切深處盡涸、亞述驕傲必降、伊及權勢必除、我耶和華使斯民倚我而增力、一舉一動、恆奉我名、此乃主所言、

斧豈可向用斧伐木者自誇乎、鋸豈可向用鋸者自矜乎、梃豈能舉舉梃者乎、木杖豈能舉非木之人乎、

亞述人必受禍、我怒如梃、我忿猶杖、為其手所執、我遣之攻邪惡之國、命之罰我所怒之民、擄掠攘奪、蹂躪人民、若街衢之泥然、
