I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.

You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. (niv)

Therefore, the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will send a wasting disease upon his sturdy warriors; under his pomp a fire will be kindled like a blazing flame. (niv)

You will eat the flesh of mighty men and drink the blood of the princes of the earth as if they were rams and lambs, goats and bulls— all of them fattened animals from Bashan. (niv)

Then sheep will graze as in their own pasture; lambs will feed among the ruins of the rich. (niv)

Jesus answered them,“ It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (niv)

“ In that day,” declares the Lord,“ I will gather the lame; I will assemble the exiles and those I have brought to grief.I will make the lame my remnant, those driven away a strong nation. The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion from that day and forever. (niv)

Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your inheritance, which lives by itself in a forest, in fertile pasturelands. Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead as in days long ago. (niv)

Hear this word, you cows of Bashan on Mount Samaria, you women who oppress the poor and crush the needy and say to your husbands,“ Bring us some drinks!”The Sovereign Lord has sworn by his holiness:“ The time will surely come when you will be taken away with hooks, the last of you with fishhooks.You will each go straight out through breaches in the wall, and you will be cast out toward Harmon,” declares the Lord. Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says concerning the prophets:“ I will make them eat bitter food and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land.” (niv)

He answered,“ I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” (niv)

“ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. (niv)

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. (niv)
