以色列地既成荒邱、爾西耳山以東四境、靡不悅懌、故我使爾荒蕪、俾知我乃耶和華。

爾見以色列地荒蕪、因而歡樂、我必視爾所為以報爾、西珥山及以東全地必荒蕪、人則知我乃主、

Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”

You were happy when the land of Israel became empty. So I will treat you in the same way. Mount Seir, you will be empty. So will the whole land of Edom. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”

As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

You rejoiced at the desolation of Israel’s territory. Now I will rejoice at yours! You will be wiped out, you people of Mount Seir and all who live in Edom! Then you will know that I am the Lord.

For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness,[ and] with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.

And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I[ am] against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I[ am] the LORD.

But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

For the day of the LORD[ is] near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase[ it], rase[ it, even] to the foundation thereof.

And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and[ from] beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD.

Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made[ you] desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and[ are] an infamy of the people:Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that[ are] round about;Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all[ their] heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker:[ and] he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I[ am] the LORD.So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not[ let them] pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I[ am] the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
