Its boundary line follows the Hethlon road to Lebo hamath and then runs on to Hazar enan on the border of Damascus, with Hamath to the north. Dan’s territory extends all the way across the land of Israel from east to west.

我听见以色列人各支派中受印的数目有十四万四千；犹大支派中受印的有一万二千；吕便支派中有一万二千；迦得支派中有一万二千；亚设支派中有一万二千；拿弗他利支派中有一万二千；玛拿西支派中有一万二千；西缅支派中有一万二千；利未支派中有一万二千；以萨迦支派中有一万二千；西布伦支派中有一万二千；约瑟支派中有一万二千；便雅悯支派中受印的有一万二千。

难道我的东西不可随我的意思用吗？因为我作好人，你就眼红了吗？’这样，那在后的，将要在前；在前的，将要在后了。”

以色列的众儿子各带着家眷，和雅各一同来到埃及，他们的名字如下：吕便、西缅、利未、犹大、以萨迦、西布伦、便雅悯、但、拿弗他利、迦得、亚设。凡从雅各生的，共有七十人。那时，约瑟已经在埃及。

“你们北边的地界要从大海开始划界，直到何珥山，从何珥山划到哈马口，直通到西达达，又通到西斐仑，直达哈萨‧以难。这就是你们北边的地界。

这是帮助你们的人的名字：属吕便的，示丢珥的儿子以利蓿；属西缅的，苏利沙代的儿子示路蔑；属犹大的，亚米拿达的儿子拿顺；属以萨迦的，苏押的儿子拿坦业；属西布伦的，希伦的儿子以利押；约瑟子孙、属以法莲的，亚米忽的儿子以利沙玛；属玛拿西的，比大蓿的儿子迦玛列；属便雅悯的，基多尼的儿子亚比但；属但的，亚米沙代的儿子亚希以谢；属亚设的，俄兰的儿子帕结；属迦得的，丢珥的儿子以利雅萨；属拿弗他利的，以南的儿子亚希拉。”

但人仍走他们的路。米迦见他们的势力比自己强，就转身回家去了。但人把米迦造的神像和他的祭司带走，来到拉亿安宁无虑的百姓那里，用刀杀了他们，放火烧了那城。没有人来搭救，因为这城离西顿很远，他们又与世无争；这城在靠近伯‧利合的平原。但人建造这城，在那里居住，并照着他们祖先以色列之子但的名字，给这城起名叫但。原先这城名叫拉亿。

耶罗波安王就筹划，铸造了两个金牛犊，对众百姓说：“你们上耶路撒冷去实在够久了。以色列啊，看哪，这是领你出埃及地的神明。”他把一个安置在伯特利，另一个安置在但。

“西界就是大海，从南界直到哈马口对面。这是西界。

大卫对跟随他的约押元帅说：“你来回走遍以色列众支派，从但直到别是巴，数点百姓，我好知道百姓的数目。”
