This will be the sacred portion for the priests. It will be 25,000 cubits long on the north side, 10,000 cubits wide on the west side, 10,000 cubits wide on the east side and 25,000 cubits long on the south side. In the center of it will be the sanctuary of the Lord.

It will be the sacred share of land for the priests. It will be eight miles long on the north side. It will be three and a third miles wide on the west side. It will be three and a third miles wide on the east side. And it will be eight miles long on the south side. My temple will be in the center of it.

These shall be the allotments of the holy portion: the priests shall have an allotment measuring 25,000 cubits on the northern side, 10,000 cubits in breadth on the western side, 10,000 in breadth on the eastern side, and 25,000 in length on the southern side, with the sanctuary of the Lord in the midst of it.

For the priests there will be a strip of land measuring 8 1/3 miles long by 3 1/3 miles wide, with the Lord’s Temple at the center.

This holy donation will be set apart for the priests alone. It will be 8⅓ miles long on the northern side, 3⅓ miles wide on the western side, 3⅓ miles wide on the eastern side, and 8⅓ miles long on the southern side. The LORD’s sanctuary will be in the middle of it.

The holy allotment shall be for these, namely for the priests, toward the north twenty five thousand cubits in length, toward the west ten thousand in width, toward the east ten thousand in width, and toward the south twenty five thousand in length; and the sanctuary of the Lord shall be in its midst.

To these— to the priests— the holy district shall belong: on the north twenty-five thousand cubits in length, on the west ten thousand in width, on the east ten thousand in width, and on the south twenty-five thousand in length. The sanctuary of the Lord shall be in the center.

And for these, even for the priests, shall be the holy oblation; toward the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of Jehovah shall be in the midst thereof.

利未人的眾族長近前來到以利亞撒祭司和嫩的兒子約書亞，以及以色列人各支派父系的領袖那裏，在迦南地的示羅對他們說：「從前耶和華曾藉着摩西吩咐給我們城鎮居住，以及城鎮的郊外供我們牧養牲畜。」於是以色列人照耶和華的指示，從自己的地業中，把這些城鎮和城鎮的郊外給了利未人。哥轄族抽了籤。利未人中亞倫祭司的子孫，從猶大支派、西緬支派、便雅憫支派的地業中，抽籤得了十三座城。哥轄其餘的子孫，從以法蓮支派、但支派、瑪拿西半支派宗族的地業中，抽籤得了十座城。革順的子孫，從以薩迦支派、亞設支派、拿弗他利支派、住巴珊的瑪拿西半支派宗族的地業中，抽籤得了十三座城。米拉利的子孫，按着宗族，從呂便支派、迦得支派、西布倫支派的地業中，得了十二座城。以色列人照耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的，把這些城鎮和城鎮的郊外，抽籤給利未人。他們從猶大支派和西緬支派的地業中，給了以下所記名字的各城，就是給利未人哥轄宗族的亞倫子孫，因為他們抽到第一籤：把猶大山區的基列‧亞巴，就是希伯崙，和四圍的郊野給了他們。亞巴是亞衲族的祖先。但是，這城的田地和所屬的村莊卻給了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒為業。他們把希伯崙，就是誤殺人的逃城和城的郊外，給了亞倫祭司的子孫；又給了立拿和城的郊外、雅提珥和城的郊外、以實提莫和城的郊外、何崙和城的郊外、底璧和城的郊外、亞因和城的郊外、淤他和城的郊外，以及伯‧示麥和城的郊外，共九座城，都是從這二支派中分出來的。又從便雅憫支派的地業中給了基遍和城的郊外、迦巴和城的郊外、亞拿突和城的郊外，以及亞勒們和城的郊外，共四座城。亞倫子孫作祭司的共有十三座城，以及城的郊外。利未人哥轄的宗族，就是哥轄其餘的子孫，抽籤所得的城是從以法蓮支派來的。他們把以法蓮山區的示劍，就是誤殺人的逃城和城的郊外給了哥轄其餘的子孫；又給了基色和城的郊外、基伯先和城的郊外，以及伯‧和崙和城的郊外，共四座城。又從但支派的地業中給了伊利提基和城的郊外、基比頓和城的郊外、亞雅崙和城的郊外，以及迦特‧臨門和城的郊外，共四座城。又從瑪拿西半支派的地業中給了他納和城的郊外，以及迦特‧臨門和城的郊外，共兩座城。哥轄其餘的子孫共有十座城，以及城的郊外。利未人宗族中革順的子孫，從瑪拿西半支派的地業中所得的是巴珊的哥蘭，就是誤殺人的逃城和城的郊外，以及比‧施提拉和城的郊外，共兩座城。從以薩迦支派的地業中所得的是基善和城的郊外、大比拉和城的郊外、耶末和城的郊外，以及隱‧干寧和城的郊外，共四座城。從亞設支派的地業中所得的是米沙勒和城的郊外、押頓和城的郊外、黑甲和城的郊外，以及利合和城的郊外，共四座城。從拿弗他利支派的地業中所得的是加利利的基低斯，就是誤殺人的逃城和城的郊外、哈末‧多珥和城的郊外，以及加珥坦和城的郊外，共三座城。革順人按着宗族共有十三個城，以及城的郊外。其餘的利未人，就是米拉利的子孫，按着宗族從西布倫支派的地業中所得的是約念和城的郊外、加珥他和城的郊外、丁拿和城的郊外，以及拿哈拉和城的郊外，共四座城。從呂便支派的地業中所得的是比悉和城的郊外、雅雜和城的郊外、基底莫和城的郊外，以及米法押和城的郊外，共四座城。從迦得支派的地業中所得的是基列的拉末，就是誤殺人的逃城和城的郊外、瑪哈念和城的郊外、希實本和城的郊外，以及雅謝和城的郊外，共四座城。利未宗族其餘的人，就是米拉利的子孫，按着宗族抽籤所得的，共十二座城。利未人在以色列人的地業中所得的城，共四十八個，還有城的郊外。這些城的四圍都有郊野，每個城都是如此。這樣，耶和華將從前向他們列祖起誓要給他們的全地賜給以色列人，他們就得了為業，住在其中。耶和華照着向他們列祖起誓所應許的一切，賜給他們全境安寧。他們所有的仇敵，沒有一個能在他們面前站立得住。耶和華把所有仇敵都交在他們手中。耶和華應許賜福給以色列家的話，一句都沒有落空，全都應驗了。

途中不要帶行囊，不要帶兩件內衣，也不要帶鞋子和手杖，因為工人得飲食是應當的。

耶和華在約旦河邊，耶利哥對面的摩押平原吩咐摩西說：「你吩咐以色列人，要從所得為業的地中把一些城給利未人居住，也要把這些城四圍的郊野給利未人。這些城鎮要歸他們居住，郊外可以給他們牧放牛羊、牲畜和所有的動物。你們給利未人城的郊外，要從城牆量起，四圍往外量一千肘。你們要往東量二千肘，往南量二千肘，往西量二千肘，往北量二千肘為邊界，以城為中心；這城鎮的郊外要歸給他們。」「你們給利未人的城鎮中，要設立六座逃城，讓誤殺人的可以逃到那裏。此外還要給他們四十二座城。所以，給利未人的城一共有四十八座，連同城的郊外都給他們。從以色列人所得的產業中給利未人的這些城鎮，多的要多給，少的要少給；各支派要按照所承受為業之地的多少把城鎮給利未人。」耶和華吩咐摩西說：
