When terror comes, they will seek peace in vain.

“‘ When terror comes, they will look for peace. But there will not be any.

When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there shall be none.

Terror and trembling will overcome my people. They will look for peace but not find it.

他们诱惑我的百姓，说：‘平安！’其实没有平安，就像有人筑墙壁，看哪，他们倒去粉刷它。

我的神说：“恶人必不得平安！”

我们的眼目徒然仰望帮助，以致失明，我们从瞭望台所守望的，竟是一个不能救人的国！仇敌追逐我们的脚踪，使我们不敢在自己的街上行走。我们的结局临近，日子已满，我们的结局已经来到。

这就是以色列的先知，他们指着耶路撒冷说预言，见到这城平安的异象，其实没有平安。这是主耶和华说的。”

我们指望平安，却得不着福气；指望痊愈时刻，看哪，受了惊惶。“从但那里传来敌人的马喷气的声音，壮马发出嘶声，全地就都震动；因为他们来吞灭这地和其上所有的，吞灭这城与其中的居民。

玛律的居民心甚忧急，切望得着福气，因为灾祸已从耶和华那里临到耶路撒冷的城门。

平安的路，他们不知道，所行的事无一公平。他们为自己修筑弯曲的路，凡走这路的都不得平安。因此，公平离我们甚远，公义追不上我们。我们指望光亮，看哪，却只有黑暗，指望光明，却行在幽暗中。我们用手摸墙，好像盲人，四处摸索，如同失明的人；中午时我们绊倒，如在黄昏一样，在强壮的人中，我们好像死人一般。我们全都咆哮如熊，哀鸣如鸽子；指望公平，却得不着；指望救恩，它却远离。我们的过犯在你面前增加，罪恶作证控告我们；过犯与我们同在。至于我们的罪孽，我们都知道：
