So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and unclean animals and all the idols of Israel.

So I went in and saw. And there, engraved on the wall all around, was every form of creeping things and loathsome beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel.

So I went in and saw the walls covered with engravings of all kinds of crawling animals and detestable creatures. I also saw the various idols worshiped by the people of Israel.

I went in and looked, and there engraved all around the wall was every kind of abhorrent thing— crawling creatures and beasts— as well as all the idols of the house of Israel.

So I entered and looked, and behold, every form of crawling things and animals and detestable things, with all the idols of the house of Israel, were carved on the wall all around.

“不可为自己做偶像，也不可做天上、地下和地底下水中各物的形象。

他们用必朽坏的人、飞禽、走兽和昆虫的形象，取代了永不朽坏的神的荣耀。

首先我要加倍报应他们的罪孽和罪恶，因为他们用自己那些毫无生气、可憎的偶像（“毫无生气，可憎的偶像”原文作“可憎的偶像的尸体”）玷污了我的土地，他们那些可厌之物充满了我的产业。”

“可厌恶之物，你都不可吃。

“在地上爬行的生物中，你们应以为不洁净的是这些：鼬鼠、鼫鼠、蜥蜴这一类，以及壁虎、龙子、守宫、蛇医、变色龙。在所有爬行的生物中，你们应以这些为不洁净；它们死了以后，触摸它们的，都不洁净到晚上。

但是那些反刍或分蹄的走兽中，你们不可吃的有：骆驼、兔子和石獾，因为它们反刍却不分蹄，就对你们不洁净。至于猪，因为它分蹄却不反刍，就对你们不洁净。它们的肉，你们不可吃；它们的尸体，你们不可触摸。

或是地上各种爬行的动物的像，或是地底下水里各样鱼类的像。

“贼被捉拿时怎样羞愧，以色列家和他们的君王、领袖、祭司和先知，也都怎样羞愧。他们对木头说：‘你是我爸爸’；对石头说：‘你是生我的’。他们以背向我，不以脸向我；然而遭遇患难时却说：‘起来，救救我们吧！’

凡是用肚子，或用四足或是多足在地上爬行的动物，你们都不可吃，因为它们是可憎之物。你们不可因任何爬行的动物使自己成为可憎的，也不可因它们玷污自己，以致不洁净。因为我是耶和华你们的神，所以你们要使自己成为圣洁。你们要分别为圣，因为我是圣洁的。你们不可因在地上爬行的任何动物玷污自己，

在水中游动或生存在水中的活物，无论是在海里或是河里，若是没有翅和鳞的，你们都要当作可憎之物。它们是你们憎恶之物；它们的肉，你们不可吃；它们的尸体，你们要憎恶。所有在水里没有翅和鳞的活物，你们都要当作可憎之物。

在山谷中光滑的石头里有你的分；只有它们是你所要得的分！你也向它们浇了奠祭，献上了供物。这些事我岂能容忍不报复呢？你在高高的山上安设你的床榻，又上到那里去献祭。你在门后，在门框后，安设了外族神的记号；你远离了我，裸露了自己，就上床去，又扩张你的床，你也与他们立约；你爱他们的床，看他们的下体（“下体”:原文作“手”，是“下体”的委婉语）。你带着油走到君王那里，并且加多了你的香料，差派使者到远方去，你甚至自己下到阴间去！你因路途遥远而困乏，却不说：“没有希望了！”因为你找着了生命的力量，所以你不觉得疲倦。

因以色列把自己的淫行视作等闲，去与石头木头行淫，就把这地玷污了。
