So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and unclean animals and all the idols of Israel.

So I went in and saw the walls covered with engravings of all kinds of crawling animals and detestable creatures. I also saw the various idols worshiped by the people of Israel.

“不可為自己做偶像，也不可做天上、地下和地底下水中各物的形象。

他們用必朽壞的人、飛禽、走獸和昆蟲的形象，取代了永不朽壞的神的榮耀。

首先我要加倍報應他們的罪孽和罪惡，因為他們用自己那些毫無生氣、可憎的偶像（“毫無生氣，可憎的偶像”原文作“可憎的偶像的屍體”）玷污了我的土地，他們那些可厭之物充滿了我的產業。”

“可厭惡之物，你都不可吃。

“在地上爬行的生物中，你們應以為不潔淨的是這些：鼬鼠、鼫鼠、蜥蜴這一類，以及壁虎、龍子、守宮、蛇醫、變色龍。在所有爬行的生物中，你們應以這些為不潔淨；牠們死了以後，觸摸牠們的，都不潔淨到晚上。

但是那些反芻或分蹄的走獸中，你們不可吃的有：駱駝、兔子和石獾，因為牠們反芻卻不分蹄，就對你們不潔淨。至於豬，因為牠分蹄卻不反芻，就對你們不潔淨。牠們的肉，你們不可吃；牠們的屍體，你們不可觸摸。

或是地上各種爬行的動物的像，或是地底下水裡各樣魚類的像。

“賊被捉拿時怎樣羞愧，以色列家和他們的君王、領袖、祭司和先知，也都怎樣羞愧。他們對木頭說：‘你是我爸爸’；對石頭說：‘你是生我的’。他們以背向我，不以臉向我；然而遭遇患難時卻說：‘起來，救救我們吧！’

凡是用肚子，或用四足或是多足在地上爬行的動物，你們都不可吃，因為牠們是可憎之物。你們不可因任何爬行的動物使自己成為可憎的，也不可因牠們玷污自己，以致不潔淨。因為我是耶和華你們的神，所以你們要使自己成為聖潔。你們要分別為聖，因為我是聖潔的。你們不可因在地上爬行的任何動物玷污自己，

在水中游動或生存在水中的活物，無論是在海裡或是河裡，若是沒有翅和鱗的，你們都要當作可憎之物。牠們是你們憎惡之物；牠們的肉，你們不可吃；牠們的屍體，你們要憎惡。所有在水裡沒有翅和鱗的活物，你們都要當作可憎之物。

在山谷中光滑的石頭裡有你的分；只有它們是你所要得的分！你也向它們澆了奠祭，獻上了供物。這些事我豈能容忍不報復呢？你在高高的山上安設你的床榻，又上到那裡去獻祭。你在門後，在門框後，安設了外族神的記號；你遠離了我，裸露了自己，就上床去，又擴張你的床，你也與他們立約；你愛他們的床，看他們的下體（“下體”:原文作“手”，是“下體”的委婉語）。你帶著油走到君王那裡，並且加多了你的香料，差派使者到遠方去，你甚至自己下到陰間去！你因路途遙遠而困乏，卻不說：“沒有希望了！”因為你找著了生命的力量，所以你不覺得疲倦。

因以色列把自己的淫行視作等閒，去與石頭木頭行淫，就把這地玷污了。
